Cozy Afrikan/ Caribbean food spot with steam tables and varying daily menus. Good homestyle fare that were used to back home. A daily staple for overnight shifts.

I'm not a fan of this place. It gives Jamaican more than African. Very heavy handed on the rice and peas almost a pound of rice. I watched her shovel about 4-5 scoops of rice into each plate. Ultimately you will throw out more than half in a large plate. I didn't want rice and the owner told me I have to. She didn't offer getting less than the 4-5 scoops of rice she gives which isn't customer service at all so I just left the place. I won't spend my money on just rice, a little bit of oxtails and mac and cheese. I would rather travel to brooklyn where they cater to the customer. That's how you keep money rolling in.

I wish i could give this spot more than 5 stars, the customer service is top tier Mona and her grand daughter are sweet hearts. They are such a pleasure to visit while getting food, had such a good atmosphere and such a homey feeling. Your definitely welcomed with open arms. The food is to die for. The j*** chciken is better than the what i had in Jamaica. I have no complaints and will definitely be back! Thank you guys, me and nikki love u!

So I was in Staten Island and craving African food. This place had great google reviews... I had to try it myself, stop in ask questions, and try it!!! Mona is the life line and you can taste her passion in her food... she cooks from her heart and wants everyone to experience her craft. The spice literally has flavor!

The menu had a fantastic selection of West African dishes, including traditional stews, soups, and grilled meats, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Every dish was prepared to perfection, with bold and flavorful spices that made my taste buds dance with joy.

This small food business is definitely Staten Island’s hidden gem. The African cultural cuisine is mouth watering and savory. All the dishes are well seasoned not over seasoned and creates a happy dance in your mouth. You have to get there early to beat the anticipated lines. Keep in mind that the business is open to the public on limited time and depending on how quickly the dishes are sold out. Trust me I’m not just giving a great review because it’s my name sake (I have no connection to this business whatsoever - only a name in common) - so go there it’s a culinary and lovely food experience. Great price, good portions and great customer service.
