Love their mousse cakes and Irish Soda Bread. When we travel off Staten Island, our hosts ask us to bring Mother Mousse to their place for dessert. Their Irish Soda Bread has great taste and does not fall apart like others. I can slice it thin and it does not break apart.

Wanted a classic NY cheesecake with graham cracker crust. Don't understand why none of the many bakeries on the island fail to make it this way. After doing some research I found that Mother Mousse was the only place that had it. The bakery on Hylan looked great, modern, and clean. The cakes and pies all at least looked fresh. Got home and cracked it open and was not super impressed. The cheesecake was heavy and dry which made me question its freshness.

Went to the one on Hylan blvd. I bought the Mouse filling cake with chocolate covered strawberries on it, rainbow cookies and cannolis everything was fresh and delicious. I go there several times a year for cakes and pastries and have never been disappointed.

Last Saturday I ordered a cake from the Hylan Boulevard store. I was told they were finished for the day making cakes, but I can order it from them and pick it up the following day (Sunday 1PM)at the victory Boulevard. What Could Go Wrong, OMG.So after a 25 minute ride to Victory Boulevard and handing my pretty pink receipt to the employee, she disappeared into the back only to return and say we have No Cake for You! She instantly blamed the Hylan Boulevard store for not sending a email or fax or whatever other communications they use for not sending this cake order to them. So of course I called the Hylan Boulevard store who said no we definitely sent it to them. And now I'm in the middle of this he said she said. World War III or a plague is not going to kill this country. It's incompetency everywhere.

Mother Moose cake was delicious. The sweet was perfect. I ordered me a chocolate moose Birthday cake it was beautiful.They even delivered it and it also came on time. In future I will order my cakes from mother mooseCake very moist it all just melt in your mouth.
We Have bought many cakes from there I feel terrible to do this I will be very truthful. So after spending $68 on these cakes That No One Ate the strawberry cake was lifeless look at the Berries So raw no pride in quality and the Mini chocolate cake if you can zoom in old and dry I can't believe it. What a Shame Believe it's not the money it is the embarrassment for My Birthday Guests that I am making this Factual Statement Hopefully They Get there act together and Improve So No One Else experience these results

Working with mother Mother Mousse used to be a wonderful experience but new ownership changes have gutted this former neighborhood stalwart. My family and I had been consistent customers for years but we have recently found a precipitous drop in both the quality of their products and the attitude of their ownership. I used to sing the praises of Mother Mousse to anyone who would listen; I can now only recommend you stay far away from this business.

I called early in the morning to put a cake on hold and because i got there late they sold it without notifying me. I live far away so driving all the way there was pointless. Instead of calling me and giving me the heads up that they were going to sell it i had to find out when i got there. I asked for a specific cake but they offered me anything else, i took my business elsewhere. It was both my sister and daughters birthday. I know not to go there, now.
