Best Sri Lankan food place in Staten Island. If you need authentic Sri Lankan this is the place to go. Portions are bigger and tastier.

Came here off the Ferry and would make this trip here again any time just for the food, it was amazing, we had the deviled chicken with roti and fried rice. What a feast! Spicy, sweet deliciousness of the sauce, the tender glazed meat off the bone *chefs kiss*

Excellent food in a simple sit down place in the back of a grocery store. The owner is very kind and welcoming. Portions are big and well priced. Everything was very tasty, totally recommended!

I was visiting from out of town and decided to drop in while I was in the neighborhood. Worth pointing out that as of Sep 2024 they have a small dine-in area (there are a handful of Sri Lankan grocers in the area but fewer sit down options). The owner was super welcoming and recommended a lamprais, which I had with mutton. Portion sizes are huge - lamprais was the size of my face - and the mutton really juicy. I thought the fried eggplant (?) also complemented the dish really well with some added sweetness.

Also chatted with the owner a little bit about the Sri Lankan community here on SI which numbers about 7,000. Will have to drop in again next time I’m in NY!

Loved the pork rice and curry- the highlight was the tender jackfruit curry for me. I hope they have jackfruit curry every time I buy the rice and curry.

This place is amazing! The people is kind and the food is delicious! Thought Sri Lankan food would be similar to indian food. While there is an resemblence, it actually has so much more to offer. The stir fried roti with pork is just amazing! For those not familiar with Sri Lankan food including myself, I would describe it as the perfect blend of indian cuisine's flavor and chinese cusine's technique. Will definitely come back

The back of a small grocery store seats perhaps 10 people on simple tables and chairs. Service is excellent, very friendy. Very accomadating. Most of their food is sold for pickup or delivery but they will accomadate anything you want in house.

We call ahead to get the hoppers in the evening for dininer in. They were so nice about accomadating our late arrival.

Their luna miris is outstanding. So is the hoppers, string hoppers.

The food was so delicious and interesting.
The place is owned by a lovely and smiling family.
Don't believe them when they say the food is not spicy. It's got a kick.. :)
I am vegan and my dish was great and interesting as well.
The only thing we didn't like is the disposable dishes.

Unlike the other Sri Lankan places in Staten Island, this is a grocery that also prepares food. They do have a menu, and seating. but I just got a selection of their buns to eat on the go.

The guy behind the counter was very kind, and even the customers pitched in to help me understand what was inside all the different buns. I got onion bun, fish curry bun, and an egg bun sort of thing.

Next time I hope to try some items off their hot menu.
