I tried shorty but the curry roti was nasty it was tasteless. Shorty Roti shop was a hit back in the days. The seasoning was off completely. Maybe you guys change the cook I am not sure. I hope you get back to what it use to be like back in the days. Sorry from 1 to 10 I give you (1). The service was good

Shorty's Roti Shop is a a community STAPLE! The food is made with so much love. Their doubles have a very special place in my heart. Marisa, the owner, is a wonderful individual with a big heart. She welcomes customers with a warm smile and a genuine sense of humor. This place is a true gem.

classic place to eat west Indian food on the island. Great service, authentic Caribbean staff and Caribbean attitude, I recommend doubles and polouri with tamarind sauce and spicy, roti with any curried meat. ting grapefruit soda and don't forget a patty with some cocobread.

Service, food, the place it self TRASH!!! I absolutely disappointed that they had the audacity to call this "authentic Trini Cuisine ". Food was old like no on purchased all day, just nasty. The lady is half pleasant who serves you, but don't ask any questions, or the tongue lashing comes out IMMEDIATELY!! I ate the disrespect, paid my money, but could not eat the food!!🤮🤮🤮.I spent about 70 bucks for 3 roti, and 3 drinks, I tried to look past their dingy dreary atmosphere, and still show patronage, but i wish I had turned around and walked out like my first mind had told me. NEVER AGAIN!! I love my people, and try support at every chance I get, but I wish I had read a few reviews first, those people were right! And the she replies to every negative comment, as if she was right! This woman and her small business is laughable. Eat here at your own risk!!

I am only here to comment on the service. I am a Brooklynite with West Indian parents. So I was happy to see this restaurant when I moved to Staten Island over 18 years ago. But I have to say that I am angered and disappointed every time I step foot in this restaurant. The service is horrible. I ended up walking out the last time I went in to buy roti skins because I was ignored and the yelled at for tapping on the glass to get service. Today at approximately 1:20 on Diwali, I was told they have no roti skins and the response was like I was bothering her for asking what time they would have it available. This is my last time stepping foot in this restaurant and I am on the way home to make my own roti skins. #Neversoendmoney&be mistreated.

Terrible Experience at Shorty's Roti Shop

Look closely at the stars... they are either 1 or 5—something wrong here.

I had the most disappointing experience at Shorty's Roti Shop. The food was absolutely spoiled, likely because it had been sitting out for too long. Even the roti skin wasn’t fresh—it tasted old and stale. The curry was beyond awful; it had such a horrible smell, almost like feces. I couldn't believe they were serving this to customers.

When I politely asked for a refund, I was told that once I left the store, I couldn’t get a refund or even credit for a future visit when the food might be fresh. This is unacceptable. If you're a fellow West Indian looking for a good meal, buy at your own risk. I definitely won’t be going back.

Loved it. It's great that a place like this exists on Staten Island. Their doubles were great, just the right amount of kick. Their shrimp roti was very aromatic. My loved the boneless chicken curry roti. The macaroni pie was good, but not part of their highlight reel.

The owner is very nice. The food is always fresh and I love that I can call ahead. Every time I stop by the mother is always having me try new things- she’s so sweet! lol! It’s such a nice little neighborhood spot that’s perfectly priced for my budget.
