We wanted so bad to like it here. I was excited to see this on SI. Skewers were so bland. Tofu was dry. Ordered a lot hoping it would be yummy but it wasn’t.

The taste is very good, at least it is suitable for Chinese taste buds, and the price is very reasonable.

I just got two portions of iced rice. One had normal rice, while the other didn't even have a bite. It was ridiculously short.

The name of the restaurant is "Mr. BBQ". I set my expectations too high, hoping for charcoal-grilled skewers. All the skewers we ordered were DEEP-FRIED, and we ordered plenty. Oily and dry. i rather drive to BK and grab some og skewers from some food cart on 8th avenue.

A small restaurant opened late night in the New Dorp area featuring some of the trendy bbq skewer dishes and noodles. A fraction of the price for what you may get in the city for a similar meal - though with some differences.

We enjoyed our meal and, while it was nothing unique or special, I would come back here again for a late night, light dinner (this and bubble tea nearby would make for a great comfort food combo!).

Two things I would note: (1) The food did not stay warm as long as I would have liked (some places will provide a little tea candle under the tray to keep the skewers warm), and (2) I wish the marinade or seasoning was more flavorful and integrated into the meat/vegetable. The one we enjoyed the most was the mushroom! The one thing we did not try was the noodles and hot pot.

We came here for a late night snack around 9:30pm on a Saturday night and enjoyed our time here. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxing. It wasn't busy, but there was consistent traffic - both for dine in, deliveries and pick ups.

Staff were not as attentive as we would have liked for water refills or additional orders of food. It seems like you may be able to order by yourself using a QR code but a staff had assisted us the first time around. We had trouble getting onto the free wifi and there was no signal inside, so we had difficulties trying out the QR code.

The lunch special is so affordable here! Everything was delicious and came out quickly. I highly recommend the clam rice noodles in foil if you like spicy food!

Incredible food at incredible prices. I came with some friends and we all got different skewers to go and loved them all! Some faves were the chicken/lamb/beef skewers, the cauliflower skewers, and the mackerel skewer (this one is a full bone in fish, but is great!). The vibe inside is super cool and the staff is friendly! For $2 per item (that are all delicious!) I'll certainly be back.

Come here mostly every weekend for lunch .. great food... keep up the good work!! And they have a private room for kareoke down stairs!!
