“Really hit or miss with this one, especially since SBU relies on an outside catering company known as CulinArt, and they run this facility. Generally friendly staff, the same food options that differ slightly (in both quality and variety) day-to-day, coupled with a small chance of food poisoning, often due to accidental mishandling. The atmosphere is vibrant and simple, and the music is a bit too loud sometimes. Recommended for those with meal swipes or takeout boxes.“
“I am a non traditional returning student and I have to say that some of these posts knocking the quality of the food or the cleanliness of the dining areas are just ridiculous. Also the students complaining about the prices apparently have never eaten food in a restaurant before at least not where they were paying because I challenge you to get lunch which includes an entree, drink, and a snack for after for less than the $13 avg it has cost me to do so on campus. Sure the food is not five star dining but who expects it to be. All of the variety of locations I have eaten in have been tasty. Maybe if you are looking for insta worthy meals go off campus.“

“If you go to the hospital and end up in the cafeteria, you can be sure to find something that will satisfy you. They have prepackaged meals and fresh hot food available. Comfort food is a plus, and the chicken tenders and Mac and Cheese put a smile on almost everyone’s face. You can be sure to find vegetarian options at the salad bar and some hot vegetarian options on the hot bar. The grill and pizza station are also open during the day Monday through Friday.
Vegetarian options: They have an entire salad bar and some hot options.
Dietary restrictions: If you have dietary restrictions there are always options.
Parking: To be able to park at the hospital you have to either do valet at the ER entrance or the main entrance. You can park in the parking garage or out in the open lot once you pass the toll booth.
Kid-friendliness: Children are welcome in the marketplace and there is plenty of space at the table.
Wheelchair accessibility: It is a hospital so it is easy to get in and out without a problem.“
