Mountain prices. $26 for the equivalent of a Mamas Boy Burger is extreme. Even then it wasn't that special. Meatballs were so so - undersalted. I've eaten here before and stuck to the more bites and bar snacks and it was really good. On the fence but the prices are outrageous for what it is.
Tremendous experience here last night: right off the bat you notice the casual, laid back atmosphere, a marked and welcome difference from other restaurants of similar quality. The cocktail list doesn’t stray too far from established classics, but offers surprising little twists that are perfectly balanced in the finished product. The menu is superb - absolutely brimming with fresh, seasonal ingredients in every dish. Everything tasted fresh and delicious - again, to feel so...
We had a nice experience at Tabla. It has a great atmosphere but was surprised to see a 10% living wage fee (which to be fair is in small print on the menu). But when a restaurant charges $17 for potatoes, do you need to charge a living wage fee. If you want to mandate a tip, I’m fine with that. I always tip more than the mandate anyway. But a living wage now makes the tip awkward.
