An excellent restaurant, highly recommended, with exceptional service from Soraida. Great decoration. I’m for sure I’m coming back.
We had a wait but it is worth it. I had the cod fish and chips with house cut fries. The slaw was very good. As a southerner that is high praise. My “Best Husband”had clam chowder. That was also great. He had fried shrimp. He questioned his choice once it arrived . The shrimp were well seasoned but light on breading. Very good. Our waitress Soraya (sp?) was helpful and delightful. Helpful with suggestions and food pairing.
Great food, great drinks ( huge wine pour), great wait staff, great decorations. In town for Blaze Halloween event, dinner pick from Trip Advisor…. Hit the spot. A must visit on your trip here
Our family had lunch here while on vacation in the New England area, and one of our stops was Tarrytown. This was one of the best restaurants we ate at during our entire trip! I had a cup of clam chowder along with 1/2 of the club sandwich that I split with my sister, and both were excellent! One of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. The bread was delicious and the meats so fresh and good. One of our family members had the burger and he loved it as well. Restaurant was very clean along with the bathrooms - which says a lot about a place! The staff were so nice and answered all of our questions about the area. Wonderful place to eat with an awesome atmosphere!
The wait was a lot over an hour but we had time to kill. The service was great. Food was really good. This was definitely one of my favorite stops
I never ended up eating here. We checked in with the woman out front taking names and number in your group. She told us 40-45 minutes. We noticed that there were plenty of empty tables out front. She would call a name and number in party and ask inside or out. Most people wanted inside. Never did she attempt to fill the outside tables, they were about 60 percent vacant the entire time we were waiting. If she called a party and they only wanted inside and nothing was available they went back to waiting, meanwhile the majority of tables remained vacant. This is the time of year businesses like this make the most of their income. We waited over one hour before we finally left as did many others we spoke with. We wanted outside and told her that. The way to solve this problem and fill their tables was when she took our name to ask a simple question. Do you want inside, outside or no preference. By not knowing, cost this restaurant a lot of money as well as future customers.
On September 23rd my daughter and I had a nice dinner here. When our server Stephanie asked if we'd like to drink something, I asked if the Major Andre's Boot cocktail was good. She replied that not only was it good, it was the perfect choice since it was on this very day in 1780 that Major John Andre was captured in Tarrytown! The drink was tasty and, we loved that she shared the history behind it. The food was equally good and we enjoyed seeing the Halloween decorations. We'll be back soon!
Amazing place! We love the atmosphere, food and drinks!!
Visiting in the area and stopped in for late lunch. Staff were warm and welcoming. My husband had the tuna melt with coleslaw, it was delicious and I had the apple arugula salad with raspberry dressing. This was also wonderful. Would highly recommend.
What a wonderful find. After finding Horsefeathers as a recommendation on a nearby hotel web page we called ahead to ask if there was availability. They kindly offered to hold a table for us to arrive in the next half hour. As soon as you walk through the door you taken to the past. It's rustic and charming. We were seated in the back corner and quickly approached for our drink order. For dinner I had Gracie's Real Good Chicken. Perfect name, so yummy. The hand cut fries are fantastic and the salad, clearly homemade was simple but delicious. Especially the Caesar dressing. You will be missing out if you skip dessert. We had the Magic Mountain and Strawberry Shortcake. OMG. The service was wonderful. Can't wait to go back.

What did I miss? Our meal was bland and disappointing. My wife and I met a friend here before a performance at the Lyndhurst Castle on a Sunday early evening. The restaurant was quiet but became crowded within 30-45 minutes. The restaurant is very rustic with wood paneling and probably not updated since it opened in 1981. It is very dark and you'll need a light from your phone to view the menu. There is a small lamp at each table if you are lucky. We noticed the menu was humungous which might mean much of their product could be frozen before it is prepared. We began with the zucchini sticks which were no doubt previously frozen and cooked in dirty oil. No taste, bland, and the marinara that came with it was also bland. Portion was large and generous. I ordered a angus burger with mushrooms and sauteed onions while the other two ordered a garden vegetable burger. As a side, we all had the sweet potato fries, which were previously frozen. Again very bland and no seasoning on them. The burgers were nice sized but there was no way the burgers were going to hold up against such a small and weak roll which was probably bought at the supermarket. Within one bite, we all switched to the fork and knife to eat a burger. The service was acceptable but not friendly. We did not get the customary " how are things going." While we were sipping our coffees, the manager came over to us and said " I hate to be rude but we need your table." We had only been there maybe 45 minutes and not two hours. Trust me, her tone was not nice but forceful. So we did not finish our coffee and left. There is a parking lot in the rear of the restaurant and ample parking on the street. We had much better experiences at other restaurants in the area. Again, I don't understand why they have so many good reviews.
Sunday 10/27/24 my husband & I with my 2 year old grandson waited over an hour outside after being told it would be a 45 minute wait. I ordered Baby Back Ribs w/ a baked potatoe, husband who recently had half his stomach removed due to cancer ordered a clam chowder soup & my grandson wanted pasta w/butter since they didn't offer Mac & Cheese on the kids menu. The Ribs were cold, the potatoe was hot but served without butter, I ask for butter, waitress brings it out, it's frozen. The clam chowder was cold & chewy, unedible. My grandson's pasta was ice cold, no butter so disgusting that my 2 year old grandson spit it out & blurts out yucky. Boy knows his pasta for sure!!! We didn't have drinks, my husband can't drink due to cancer, I didn't drink becuase I'm driving, my grandson has a kids milk, cost $4.50. I have never complained in a restaurant, but I couldn't let this pass so I told the waitress. I was very respectful, didn't make a seen. She says she needs to speak to her manager, comes back with the check, no manager compened $9 for the kids inedible pasta & asks if we wanted to box anything. If it was inedible there, what made her think it would be edible at home. Horrible food!!!
Amazing food and service! The Fall decorations really set the mood for our trip! Onion Rings and Johnnie Burger were amazing!
It was beautiful but some of the portions were small so you might want to be prepared to order multiple things. But good overall
Old fashioned tavern, with some modern twists!
