Just a last minute quick find on our way to Albany from Ontario Canada. Lucked in on being there for Riggi Thursday. 1/2 portion Lobster and Sausage did not disappoint. We were greeting immediately and very well taken care of. Waitress even packed our takeaways. Unlike home where we have to pack ourselves. Excellent flavours excellent service. A definite “must try”.

Not a place you expect the best food from. Think again. The food is not only delicious, they are extremely generous with their portions. My half order of riggies can feed 3. So far I have had many delicious meals here and not one complaint. Also say hi to Darla when you are there one of the best servers.

Gosh, where do I start? First, the staff. Everyone is so so so nice and will always go a step above to make the experience, especially the bartender Shannon. Next, the food. It might look just a little pricey, but the portions are absurd. You order a Mac and cheese? Be ready to feed a family of four or be ready to eat left over Mac and cheese for the week. And please, don’t get me started on the weekly specials. $.50 per wing? Every Thursday? 3 dollar happy hour beers?!?! And I can’t believe it, I almost forgot, the atmosphere. Some of the coolest, most genuine down to earth people come here. Will you get an old yapper here and there? Yeah. Will they always be super cool and least try to be funny? Yeah. Do yourself a favor, come to McGills.

The chicken riggies were very tasteful but a day old as I came on Friday and Thursday is riggies day. The hot wings were also tasty but the fish sandwich was not very good. I would recommend you find out which days entrees are prepared and patronize on those days to avoid being served leftover food. The owners were very gracious and friendly.

Ok, so my ex used to work here many, many moons ago…..circa 1998. I remembered the portions as being gigantic but I thought that might have been the trick of time on the mind. Nope, got a full order last night, and after my husband and I both had some (along with some greens) there was almost 4lbs left. And it’s all just as tasty as I remember!!!

We stopped on our way through and were pleasantly surprised! Don’t let the exterior scare you! Go inside and meet the friendly staff, enjoy the amazing food and be prepared to take a doggy bag home! The portions can feed you for a week! Oh and their clam chowder is one of my favorites!
