What a great surprise this restaurant was! We branched out of our normal comfort zone and this was our first time at a Dominican restaurant. We are so happy we did! The food was simple, hearty, and delicious, and very reasonably priced. The sweet plantains were out of this world delicious! The rice and beans were also delicious, though we would have liked more beans in proportion to the rice.

When ever I travel I always try to find an authentic cultured local authentic restaurant. Today I found the place I will return to next time I am in Utica. I went in with zero expectations. Simple drink menus, I went with the sangria. OMG. The sangria! While I sipped and looked at the menu, ( all food I have never heard of) on the wood plank menu board. I went with a steak something. I said I will have the xxx. The polite waitress repeated it back correctly as I tried to say...

I loved coming here with my family. Decently priced food and amazing atmosphere. A little wait on the food but it was no problem with a kid playing YouTube complations in the restaurant distracting me. I love this place, and would love to come again if I could. ?

Kid-friendliness: It just seems really safe for kids be to be around.
