1888 Biergarten & Tavern is an excellent place for food and drink. The outdoor area is spectacular with plenty of seating and great vibes, while inside has plenty of bar space. The food was excellent, with the chili cheese dog highly recommended. There is a great selection of local NY beers and always super friendly service. The venue is a historic tavern, sprawling and dripping with history and beauty. The bar fare is way above average, very clean and not too heavy. The F.X. Matt Brewing tour is an amazing and incredibly unique experience, with a tour guide who is very knowledgeable, personable, funny, and engaging. Guests get to taste from the barrels and walk through with hair nets and glasses. The ambiance is lively, not too loud and not too quiet. Service after the tour is great despite how busy it is.
