The Kitchen Buffet at Vernon Downs

Nov 30, 2022-Buffet-Server,Kayla extremely good; as always. Kayla always has a nice smile, looks and acts like she wants to please diners, prompt and efficient. Kayla is the kind of waitress that brings people back. I have seen her handle some real pain in the a** diners and somehow she does it diplomatically, and keeps the smile. We tried your buffet last night, and I honestly can say that I was not impressed. No mashed potatoes, No mac and cheese, no cheesecakes. Which I was told were staple items they always have.The food was alao not very hot. There also was not much for a kid friendly meal either. I did see the grill on but nothing was being cooked on it. I will, however, say that your staff was very polite and friendly even when it was pretty busy.

I was here for the weekend because my fiancé is a celebrity and we were doing a Sci-Fi show signing. The hotel room looked out over the racetrack, it was so fun seeing them warm up the horses. The room was clean and I enjoyed the bed, it was very comfortable. We ate at the restaurant inside the casino a few times. The tables aren't amazing, so we did take out. Overall I liked the food, we didn't eat at their nicer restaurants. But I loved their salads, they were huge! Great portions....read full review
