If you want to feel special on any day occasion or not, then go to Wantagh Inn. This place is a hidden gem with an incredible owner, amazing food, and an “at home” atmosphere. More places like Wantagh Inn should exist. A separate dining area away from the bar allows for a more private dining experience with the perfect mix of a fun and lively atmosphere. I plan on booking a private event at this place within the next few months.

1st. time here. Food was ok, not great. Baked clams, not much flavor. Pulled pork sandwiches, too much bbq sauce. Fish & chips. Crunchy & tasted hood but not much fish.

Had the best red snapper special dinner ever tonight. It was super fresh and perfectly prepared. The crab cake wrap was also excellent with sweet potato fries. As always the wait staff was attentive and friendly.

Owner is a racist and couldn't have less class. When politely asking if they could accommodate me and my friend for a late dinner, he responded with “You’re Italian? Why don’t you go grab something at Dunkin Donuts.” Im half Irish… Anyway, best of luck. You’re gonna need it with all those mice traps I saw when I peeked in the kitchen.

Tried the Sauerbraten with Red Cabbage . . . quite unusual to find such a dish in the US but it was excellent . . . and the atmosphere for a semi-formal dinner with friends and family is also excellent . . . If I ever find myself in this area again, this will be our meeting place for drinks & family meals . . .
