My husband and I recently moved to the Penfield/Webster area. Coming from living downtown, I was a bit worried about not having as many great dinner spots near us. Luckily we found The Peppered Pig and it has become our go-to date spot. The food is always excellent and the service is always super friendly. We have had only good experiences here and recommend it to all of our friends.

I can't say what a surprise this place was. When you drive by the place you could easily go right by or dismiss it. DO NOT. This is a must go place in the area. Hands down some of the best food not only in the area but the country. Take a chance on the this place you will not be mad. **Tip** if you are thinking of of going. Get a reservation.

I've eaten here a couple of times and I never disappoints. I just had their braised pok belly over celery root puree and that alone is worth coming back for. My girlfriend got the steak frites and she ordered it rare and it was actually perfectly rare! I had the special which was roast chicken cog au vin and it was amazing. The chicken wasn't even necessary, the veggies and sauce were superb. Service is always on point. Our server was on top of everything and was very helpful. Chef came out with our entrees and suggested a wine to go with our food and it paired perfectly.
If you've never been, you are missing out.

The food was incredible!!!!! I cannot overemphasize how delicious it was! The French onion soup mac and cheese was out of this world! Perfect flavors of both French onion soup and mac and cheese, and rather than macaroni it was spaetzel! Which is one of my favorite foods— a very pleasant surprise! The ham used in the croque Monsieur was so flavorful. The steak frites was cooked perfectly medium as ordered and the fries were excellent. Then there was the crème brûlée! Perfect warm brûlée top with a great crunch when broken with the spoon (IYKYK) and the actual custard was spot on with a complexity of flavors in a simple dish— actual vanilla bean flecks, a little salt, creamy with a rich consistency, very well balanced. Our server Jessica was a pleasure and took great care of us! Can’t wait to return!

Be prepared to pay a lot. I personally think the food, service and atmosphere could all use a little bump. It's different and in a unique location which makes it convenient to frequent. However, for their best attempt, the subtleness of French food does not come through, instead I found dishes to be greasy and overpriced.
