Ms Ruth is family owned and they treat you like family. The service is attentive. I enjoy the food and the vibe. On any day you could walk away with a good laugh. I appreciate the way my meal is handled and packed. Today I am not well, called ahead for some soup - guaranteed it will be hot, hearty and will hit the spot.
Every time I’m up in New York visiting family I stop here. My wife loves their curry goat, and I love the ackee and salt fish, yummy to my tummy!! Oh their oxtails fantastic too!!Can’t find food like this in a Texas ??

I only had a bottle of ginger beer and a fried dough ball. On a 95-degree afternoon, the drink really hit the spot and the dough ball, whatever its ingredients, was surprisingly and incredibly delicious. And it was only 50 cents! The young man behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful.BTW, this was right after I had two decent tacos just next door, but the service was not particularly friendly.
