We visited on a Saturday in early February. We were fitted with traction devices on our boots for safe walking and headed out on the Waterfall Walk. There were so many beautiful views along the way…Whiteface Mountain, 4 Waterfalls, Ice Formations and a Whirlpool. We roasted marshmallows at the fire pit and relaxed for a while before heading in for a hot chocolate at the cafe. We browsed around the gift shop where you can find many souvenir’s from the region. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our time at High Falls Gorge and look forward to returning for snowshoeing. Highly recommend this amazing place in the Adirondack's.

Beautiful in the snow! We paid a small fee to rent shoe spikes and walk along the gorge. The trails were closed because there wasn't enough snow to snow shoe but it was still worth it and such an experience!

A great light hike for almost anyone! We went right after a snow fall so we got to see the falls all frozen over. Like others have stated, it is so much more than any words or pictures can depict. Definitely buy online ahead of time, there is a discount for buying them online. With the snow, they had complimentary YakTrax for shoes ready to go with workers to install them. On the weekends, they have marshmallows ready for roasting at the end of the hike!

Beautiful walk! Not crowded, was able to take our time and just bask in the details and go at our own pace. The personnel were very professional, accommodating, polite, and respectful. The Cafe meal was very good and good proportions. Plan on eating there.. Enjoyed our day tremendously! Listening to the rushing water, seeing all the ice formations.

Absolutely wonderful experience. I was a little hesitant to visit during the winter when it was snowing but I'm so glad I did. They put some YakTrax on my boots and I was good to go! The staff were all very friendly and the area is very well-maintained.

A wonderful and magical place that made me fall in love with Lake Placid. We walked on the path adjacent to the waterfall and the river, and with the photography it probably took us half an hour, and of course we had to buy tickets. It cost us $38 for two people. Someone also put iron laces on our shoes to prevent them from slipping while walking. A beautiful experience with falling snow, and I imagine a different beauty in spring. I highly recommend it, there is a nice café and gift shop that you can't miss for souvenirs

Great winter outdoor activity for those without a lot of outdoor winter activity experience. Well-maintained pathways, beautiful views. I imagine it wouldn’t be environmentally friendly for them to put down salt to manage all the ice so the yak tracks they provide for your shoes was incredibly helpful! Beware there are a lot of stairs but good solid railings. Leave time to enjoy the campfire and s’mores at the end and the nice gift shop (military discount)

It is a nice place to go for a vocation especially in the foliage season.

I gave 4 stars only for the fact that the longer hiking trail wasn't open yet. There wasn't enough snow on the ground for it. However, if you want something to do that doesn't take long and has plenty of photo-ops, High Falls Gorge is the place. Go on the website and use the promocode to get your tickets. When you get there, they put these little bungee coils on the bottom of your shoes to help you walk on the icy stairs. Then they send you out on the 1/2 mile loop around the gorge. The pathway is well maintained, but the stairs and landings overlooking the gorge are icy. Be careful. There are so many great photo spots throughout the loop, but I would recommend going at a non-peak time because the landings can only hold one person at a time, and their are multiple narrow flights of stairs. I can see the potential congestion and rush at each landing. The gorge itself is amazing to see. Photos don't do it justice. You really have to experience it in person.

We went there in December. The entrance is right by the road. There's an entry fee of about 20 bucks. They do provide traction in winter before starting the trek and it is recommended. The gorge is beautiful with several breathtaking waterfalls along. There were plenty of viewing points. Make sure to take pics, they will come out beautifully. Make sure you at least do the trail along the gorge. There is another trail that goes into the woods. That is recommended only during the fall. At the end you do get a rest area by the river. They provide fire to warm up and free marshmallows as well. The place closes at 4.Overall, a must visit. Highly recommend.

We hedged on weather to pay 17.00 apiece. Glad we gave in. Awesome rush of water rushing just below us and an adrenaline rush on our parts.Walk the nature trail too! More waterfalls!

Found this spot by accident driving up to whiteface mountain. Glad we atopped. Some pretty waterfalls on a short walk. Also did the nature trail. This a good way to spend a quick hour or so

We loved this place. Although it was rainy and a small part of the gorge was closed due to the previous nights downpour, we thought it was safe, and very beautiful. The sun came out for a bit so we were able to take the 1 mile hike. The drive to Wilmington was so beautiful and we took great photos. I highly recommend visiting.
