The camping trout was dry and too salty, too much bacon and spice on top of a delicate fish. The duck wings were expediently sweet and too salty. French onion soup and salad were fine. We asked for a table by the window when the dining room was nearly empty and we were not accommodated.. The waitress was very good though. This review is for the restaurant. I am not sure what the tavern is. Confusing!
Me and a friend left Cape Vincent and went to White face mountain for the day. We found this awesome little motel, bar/restaurant to stay for the night. Hungry Trout. . The Owner was a really nice guy. Told us he lived in Manhattan. The rooms are great and cozy. And with a great viewWe had the best Duck wonton and poutine ever here. Lots of gluten free options! Delicious French onion soup (sans bread). Ask about the gluten free options. We loved the decor and the service was incredible. Celiac approved.
