My family and I had a very enjoyable dinner at Ruta Oaxaca. The food was delicious and the flavors were simply wonderful. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. Our waitress was very attentive, as was the owner. They made sure we had everything we wanted and then some. We plan to visit them again in the near future, hopefully on a night they have music. It's definitely worth your dropping by this reasonably priced restaurant and trying their delicious dishes.

Delicious food. We went during the afternoon and caught some nice specials on the drinks. I had the shrimp taco, and it was very savory.

Most delicious Mexican food I’ve had in Long Island in a very long time. Family owned business and incredible service. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and just right. Give it a shot, you won’t regret.

Amazing girls lunch at Ruta Oaxaca! The tacos are authentic and flavorful, and the quesadillas are easily the best I’ve ever had. What really set the experience apart was our waiter, he provided outstanding service and made us feel right at home. A 10/10 dining experience! Will return.

I had dinner here with a friend on the evening of February 14th, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We ordered the octopus, which was undercooked, and the chicken tacos, which were honestly horrible in taste. When I politely brought this to the waitress’s attention, her response was shockingly unprofessional. She said that because it was Valentine’s Day, they were “extremely busy” and that I should excuse anything I didn’t like. That’s not an explanation — that’s an excuse, and a rude one at that. I also ordered a chilled beer, and when she brought it out, it was barely cold. When I mentioned it, she simply replied, “Sir, this is what we have.” No attempt to fix it, no apology, nothing. Despite the poor food and dismissive service, I still paid the full bill, left a tip, and walked out knowing I would never return. A restaurant being busy is never a justification for serving bad food or treating customers poorly. If anything, busy nights should motivate staff to step up, not shrug off their responsibilities. Overall, the quality, attitude, and lack of care were unacceptable. I won’t be coming back.

We decided to go to Woodbury location instead of the Astoria location we usually go to and we were very disappointed. The dishes are different and underwhelming. It wasn’t worth what we paid for. The service staff was very friendly; the location seemed understaffed but I don’t blame the staff. Food was not worth it should’ve gone to Astoria even if the parking situation can be difficult. I wouldn’t come back and definitely do not recommend. Don’t waste your hard earned money like we did.

Everything was tasteless or very bland be it drinks or guac or food. The only thing that was somewhat eatable was pork taco and the very spicy sauce they gave on the side which gave it a tongue numbing kick. If you like flavorful and spicy food you will be very disappointed.

Great place for Mexican cuisine. Margaritas were well made. Return customer, so I definitely enjoy the food. 2 suggestion is to heat the tostada chips prior to the meal, but the complimentary chips and salsa are tasty. Also, to serve rice and beans with each meal rather than charge for these staples. Otherwise, a great place to satisfy anyone's cravings for a good Mexican fix

Seriously the best, quickly becoming our favorite area restaurant. Their sea bass is so delicious. Love this place.

This was our 3rd trip to Ruta Oaxaca and like the prior 2, it didn't dissappoint. The newest Mexican restaurant in the general Huntington environs, it is family-owned and present their family's recipes. This is not 'industrial Mex': these are 'real deal' dishes prepared and presented with love and care like it was coming out of someone's family kitchen. If you're looking for the usual fare seek it elsewhere. But if you want something special, try Ruta Oaxaca. BTW: be forewarned - muy picante!
