We went because we heard the meat was delicious, as were the burgers. It was a Friday night, and we were the only people there. The two men that were there initially were very kind and gracious. We ordered a 1.5 inch T-bone, a NY strip steak, and a bacon cheeseburger. We asked for our steak to be medium rare, and the burger medium. The NY strip steak was well done, and we showed one of the men that waited on us. He didn’t say anything. The T-bone was better for sure. The cheeseburger was fine - it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t amazing either. We bought a bottle of white wine for $32 and the glasses were dirty, but we made do. We ordered creamed spinach and it came out looking weeks old, yellow, and we legitimately could not tell if there were cheese curds OR meat in it. We weren’t expecting a fancy restaurant at all, but we were hoping for quality food in a laid back environment. Instead we got mediocre food for $200. I don’t know how this place has anything higher than a 3 star review.

I have to say, I’ve always thought the world of this place given its history , and countless meals I’ve had here. Today, I witnessed the cook take a raw hot dog and throw it in the deep fryer in an attempt to pass it off as grilled. Not only was it disgusting, but the cheese was runny and nowhere near what cheese on a dog should look like. Sad.

Got a burger and fries; the burger was fine, but something I literally could make at home. The beef quality is fine but it’s not seasoned at all. The lettuce was also obviously quite old, which is something other people have experienced. It’s not that hard to trim old slimy bits off of lettuce. It was missing the onion and pickles I asked for. The fries, again, are fine. The herb mayo was pretty good. The whole experience was very meh. There’s much better burgers in the city, go elsewhere.

Not sure what was going on that day but every order seemed to go in wrong. Out of 3 burgers, only one came out correctly.

Also, employee drama was on full display that day. Lots of berating and yelling and arguing all focused on the lone woman behind the counter…none of it seem deserved and it definitely did not seem to solve the underlying problems going on.

Maybe this was just an off day? Who knows. Also the Jam Burger fell apart after 3 bites.

The burger had no flavor and bun was dry. Not sure what they meant by Belgium fries but they were just hot soggy fries.

Had high hopes for lunch here given the legacy of this place. Ultimately it was a really tough meal.

We went with the lunch special, which is $19 for a flat iron and two sides. The steak itself was cooked well and had a nice crust but was doused (like so very doused) in salt, which made it so difficult to eat. Thought the sides would help, which they did not. The mushrooms were also just extraordinarily salty and the truffle fries were super oily. Thankfully, we also got a NY strip: this was much better in terms of seasoning and by that I mean rather temperate in terms of seasoning (so much more edible). This was cooked nicely, but the price was a bit high for just a portion of steak at $26.99/lb (ultimately $36). There was bread provided and this was fascinating: two grocery store hamburger buns toasted and given with chunks of butter. Thankfully we had each ordered water to combat the salt, but this ended up being $3 bottles of bottled water and we probably wouldn’t have done that had we known.

The staff is super friendly, so it was unfortunate that the meal itself was what it was.

First time here tonight. Ordered the veggie burger and Belgian fries. The fries were tasty. The burger was tasty as well but lettuce wasn't fresh and took it off. If going to add bad lettuces don't even bother serving it to the customer.

I was charged $9.75 for the burger before tax. Menu inside shows $8.95. Guessing price increase and it hasn't been updated. The menu on Google shows 2 days ago it was updated and that says $8.56. The website menu shows $7.76. Generally online prices are higher. The current correct price should be displayed.

Regular burger nothing special but for the price it’s worth it, there’s better burger than this place.

12.50 for the double cheeseburger. It was a standard tasting burger. $8 for the truffle fries which were burnt and soggy.

We usually come to Ottomanelli at Woodside and have always had excellent service, especially from the owner who was very sweet and attentive to customers. However, the last few months have been disappointing. On Memorial Day, 5/27/24, we asked about the lunch special and the staff member wasn't cordial, informing us that the special was all day. We placed our order but mentioned we were waiting for more people. Despite being the only customers, she left and didn’t return. The butcher had to ask another girl to help us.

The lunch was supposed to include the main beef, two sides, and a salad. After waiting, we received everything except the salad. When we inquired, the first girl rudely told us they didn’t have it and hadn’t charged us for it, which was irrelevant since it was supposed to be part of the special. It would have been better if they informed us from the start that the salad wasn't available, allowing us to make a different choice.

We were disappointed with the service and attitude, except for the butcher who was helpful. We understand working on a holiday can be tough, but maintaining good customer service is crucial. We miss the old Ottomanelli service.
