Food is fantastic. I love getting the Surprise sushi and letting the chefs cook
Oddly slower to get seated for a party of three when there were six open tables just sitting vacant. 30 minute wait with multiple open tables and no one in front of us???
But once seated the service was great.

I've been to Cilantro before, and this time came here for a quick dinner while in downtown. I ordered their Thai beef noodle soup, it was fresh, hot, delicious and delivered an excellent flavor profile. Good service, the staff were polite, attentive and accommodated our quick dinner request, due to tight schedule. The restaurant's atmosphere is decent but does seem to be outdated so I think they could do something to change that. Overall a good place for Thai food, and I will back for another delicious meal, sometime.

Saturday family Dinner, first time in this place, nicely located in downtown Akron. The place is nicely decorated and it is pretty big. The food is a mix of Japanese and Thai food, we ordered 2 sushi’s one Poke and fried dumplings, everything was tasty and delivered quickly. Congratulations nice place.

I’m really pleased with the Thai food here. As for the sushi, only negative feedback — it was very bad. The fish didn’t seem fresh enough. If you want to try good Thai food, you’re welcome to come here. If you want sushi, go somewhere else — this place is not for you. The cider is also very tasty, I really like it.

Although the cuisine isn’t quite my personal go-to, I haven’t had the pleasure of dining here myself. That said, I’ve made multiple deliveries from this restaurant, and every single interaction has left a lasting impression. The staff consistently greet me with respect, dignity, and radiant smiles — a level of kindness that feels rare and genuine.

What truly sets this place apart is the way they connect with their guests. They don’t just serve food — they build relationships. While waiting for one of the team members to return with a delivery, I witnessed a moment that stopped me in my tracks. Her colleague greeted an elderly couple not just with warmth, but with familiarity and care. He called them by name, asked sincerely about their well-being, and embraced them both before escorting them to their table. The joy on their faces was unforgettable — the kind of smile that lingers in your memory long after the moment has passed.

Three days later, I’m still thinking about it. I don’t know the name of the young man who welcomed them, but sir — whoever you are — you’re an extraordinary human being. You didn’t just brighten their day. You unknowingly brightened mine too.

This place isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a reminder of what hospitality can be at its very best. Absolutely profound.

Cilantro is one of my and my team's go-to restaurants in Akron. The food is always amazing and I don't think I have ever been disappointed by something I have ordered or tried.

Dinning in can get a little hectic at peak lunch time so plan ahead to spend some time potentially waiting for an available table. Food service is usually very quick and outside of maybe a handful of times during a very busy lunch rush, staff is very responsive and attentive.

Absolutely worth checking out if you are in the Akron area and are looking for Thai/Japanese cuisine. My goto order is the cilantro fried rice at a low spice level and I always leave full.

I went to Cilantro for my Bestfriends birthday, our food was amazing i got sushi and sashimi bother extremely fresh. Though I could tell they are understaffed the wait was a bit.. but our waitress Theresa was so accommodating and sweet anything that wasn’t corrected she was apologetic and corrected it. Definitely a pleasant experience!
