Went for the first time recently and you’d have a hard time convincing me there’s a better steak in the area! All the food options and the service were phenomenal, drinks were a smaller side for the price but still a 5-star place hands down!

I've never been a fancy, expensive, restaurant-visiting guy, except for vacations and when travelling for work. So when I visited Diamond Grille, it was outside of my normal restaurant romp. I was very pleasantly surprised, and in more way than one!First, we searched for the door to get in, thinking it would be in the front by the road, wrong... it was in the back. Next, after parking on the right side and searching for the entry point, we saw a valet parking booth. Oops, my bad.Upon entering the restaurant, it felt like I went back in time, but in the real deal way. I definitely could imagine that this is what the restaurant would have looked like back in the 40s, or earlier. The restaurant was very fascinating, in that I felt like I was in a twilight episode where I travelled back in time, it was amazing. Our server was equally amazing. Not only was she good at her job, but she had the most pleasant, natural personality that was a perfect fit for the place. I imagined her being a college student, but a mature, classy one.The meal is what I went there for, so on with that part of the review...My coworkers out west always talk about grilling tomahawk steaks, but I had no idea what that cut was. They explained to me that the steak is named that because of its shape. The steak literally looks like a tomahawk shape. On the Diamond Grille menu was a steak called Long Bone, I read the description and it mentioned it similar to a ribeye steak, so I went for it.It was one of the largest, thickest steaks that I've ever seen. I went from being in the twilight zone, to feeling like I was in a Flintstones cartoon ordering steak. I'll admit, at first I had my doubts, but then after cutting off a few large pieces, and after sinking my teeth into the first bit, I was sold! After eating a few more pieces of the steak, I realized it's the best I've ever had anywhere! Later, googling it, I discovered it's also called a Tomahawk steak, irony in action huh...Hands down, the best steak I've ever had and worth the price!Everything else was perfect too. I'll be back, and highly recommend it!Just in case anyone is curious, I went on Monday at 7pm.

Very expensive! Cash only! Food and service fine. Needs some restoration and no TV for what the place is!

Food was good and prepared well. Seafood and steak done correctly. The one negative was the crab cocktail that was drowned and overpowered by the cocktail sauce.

First off the restaurant was very cold. While the staff was very friendly, it felt like we were going in for a five minute oil change. Order, dine, pay. The theater of dining and service were not on display unfortunately. This place is about the locals, which is fine, but our experience wouldn't endear another visit. Berns, the Palm, even Peter Lugers offer a similar ambiance with a theater of experience you would hope for...

I'll keep it short. It's old and kind of comfy, and the service was great. The Oysters Rockefeller was not. Just not the flavor I'm used to, and a bit dry. The long bone was asked to be a shy bit less than medium. It came back r a w. Raw. Sent back, came back still too underdone, but my husband refused to send it back again, so his fault. My Diamond salad was good. He loved his roquefort dressing on his salad, this was the first time he has ever had it. I also ordered crab cocktail, it was good, but no need to heavy cocktail sauce on something do delicate. All was nice, but just nice., It's kind of far from us so we wont be back. BTW we saw many men in jeans...sweater/shirt. No need to get super dressy.

We absolutely love this place. It is the only steakhouse that cooks my steak exactly medium rare like I ask. Everytime. The wine list is excellent. The drinks are great. We got the perch and thick bacon slice apps and they were both really good. We always get the bacon :).This is a can’t miss spot for dinner!

It was fine. The service was good, the food was good and the time we spent with friends was great. The drinks were a little skimpy but not bad. We had 3 courses and at the end of our third course we were politely asked to move to the bar. We were approaching 2 hours when this happened so we were there for a bit but this was a Christmas dinner party. We only wanted to hang out for a bit longer. That was my real only complaint. Anyone in Akron should check this place out. It is an old timey Akron staple.

Love the food, love the nostalgia of the place, but the service is horrible. If you can get a table on the bar side you're good, but if you get in the room by coat rack... Service SUCKS!! Been there 3 times in last year, twice in coat rack room, absolutely horrible service, once in bar room, service was great. Did is always amazing!

Great dinner! Food options are ok. Steaks are 10/10.Kid-friendliness: No changing table but the servers helped get me set up on the sink with a plush mat and a cover for it. Very kind
