BLU Jazz+ is a music club that offers a fun and intimate setting, with a great cocktail menu and surprisingly good food, although with limited options. The club features live jazz performances, including open mic nights, and has a fully marked vegetarian and vegan menu. It is described as classy, warm, and inviting, making it a true gem in the heart of Akron, perfect for adults looking to enjoy great food, music, and drinks. Guests can experience performances from billboard and Grammy-nominated jazz artists in a cozy atmosphere. BLU Jazz+ has been a thriving venue since 2014.
The owner, Tony, and his son, Mike, the manager, along with staff like Max, who also plays folk-blues guitar, go above and beyond to ensure that visitors feel welcomed and appreciated. The venue attracts impressive talent, offering a variety of snacks and drinks. It is easily accessible, with a separate entrance for those with disabilities. While parking is available across the street in the art museum parking structure, the website has outdated information regarding free parking after 6 p.m. on weekdays. Guests are encouraged to check the website for upcoming musical events that often result in standing ovations.
