honestly wasnt sure what to expect but this place totally exceeded it. the ice cream is super creamy and they give you a generous scoop, the butter pecan was perfect. im already planning my next trip back.
Hadn't Been there in years. My grandkids mentioned it so I took a chance and went there. We had a fun time and enjoyed our ice cream. Like the nostalgic feel of the place. Will come again.
I have been going to Mary Coyles all the time as a kid and I have always loved the ice cream every time I went! The new owners are AMAZING! They are extremely friendly and welcoming! Ice cream is still the bomb, these new owners are doing wonderful things!
I have been going here since I was a kid. They have raised prices exponentially and the quality has gone down. I don’t know who the new owners are, but it’s just not the same. Might as well change the business name and brand at this point. Rest in Peace Mary Coyles Ice cream. The OG shop was an Akron staple. Now this place just reeks of price gouging and low quality product. For those of you who had the pleasure and joy of experiencing a real ice cream shop before it became a profit center and rip off, I salute you. It really was a cool place to get ice cream on warm nights. Shame on the new owners.
New ownership is very welcoming and lovely third space addition to the neighborhood!
Delicious ice cream, friendly service and kid friendly with toys and coloring pages!
Mary Coyle ice cream is the best around! Great selection and all of them delicious!
Just like I remember! I used to go on dates with my dad to Mary Coyle when I was growing up. Such amazing memories in that space. Absolutely delightful ice cream. ❤️
Michael Trecaso's will go down in history as the BEST ice cream parlor that I've ever been to!! Him and his daughter are great people who deserve the best and I wish them well. I just can't wait to meet the new owners and get me some of that delicious goodness!!
Ice cream in my neighborhood!

Best food in Highland Square. World wide famous Heggy’s candy!!!! Outstanding!!!!
The owner is extremely rude. I took my mother in, any questions she asked he was very flippant and made her seem like a nuisance. When I asked the same question, he was still rude but not as disrespectful. Definitely would not recommend waisting your money on this mediocre ice cream… just go to walmart and get a gallon tub for less.
The atmosphere is amazing inside, aside from the rude owner.
I’m not sure why he’s so cranky and disrespectful especially to younger people.
The ice cream is okay for the price. And the candy is very pricey but I wasn’t disappointed by the ones I bought. My family will not be returning
Who are ya'll kidding the owner has been this same way since he was young and I was in high school at Central Hower. I remember at his old place by the HS his head waitress, I think her name was Terry or Teresa, omg that poor woman. He was rude and a miserable man I couldn't imagine being a child in that family. Ya'll act like it is because he was old. I graduated in 1986 and he was this way in the 80s it is now 2025 you do the math.
Very rude to our 8 year old little boy when he asked for a twist cone. Snapped at him like he should have known the inside workings of their business. Won’t be returning.
