Trecaso's Mary Coyle Fine Italian Cuisine & Ice Cream

The owner is extremely rude. I took my mother in, any questions she asked he was very flippant and made her seem like a nuisance. When I asked the same question, he was still rude but not as disrespectful. Definitely would not recommend waisting your money on this mediocre ice cream… just go to walmart and get a gallon tub for less.

The atmosphere is amazing inside, aside from the rude owner.
I’m not sure why he’s so cranky and disrespectful especially to younger people.
The ice cream is okay for the price. And the candy is very pricey but I wasn’t disappointed by the ones I bought. My family will not be returning

Who are ya'll kidding the owner has been this same way since he was young and I was in high school at Central Hower. I remember at his old place by the HS his head waitress, I think her name was Terry or Teresa, omg that poor woman. He was rude and a miserable man I couldn't imagine being a child in that family. Ya'll act like it is because he was old. I graduated in 1986 and he was this way in the 80s it is now 2025 you do the math.

Very rude to our 8 year old little boy when he asked for a twist cone. Snapped at him like he should have known the inside workings of their business. Won’t be returning.

I used to frequent here with my now wife when I lived in highland square.

For a dose of nostalgia we decided to go back for a scoop of her favorite chocolate Oreo ice cream.

Similar to many others on here, the customer service was very poor. When trying to pay with a card we received a brief lecture about the fees the owner has to pay and he made it seem very inconvenient for him.

Every single thing my wife said, was followed by a sigh or a dejected remark from the owner. Any question is unwelcome with cold responses, like everything we have is on the menu on the door, or reiterating we don’t have cones, even though we asked for a cup. You’re in a customer service role, act like you give a damn about your customers. Sorry you’re tired of answering questions after being in business this long.

He used to be very nice to me but I’m not sure what’s happened over the past 5-7 years. It slowly reduced to an environment people don’t feel welcomed in.

Their whole process of making you stand outside while waiting for a single scoop in a cup is also pretty bizarre considering we were the only people in the restaurant. Like why do i need to go stand outside for 25 seconds just to come back in?

I gave it a 2/5 as the ice cream is indeed tasty, but that experience was the nail in the coffin for my wife and I. We will not be spending our money there ever again.

Sorry to give a negative review, it’s not in my nature to complain but this was the last straw.

I have never been to such an unfriendly establishment. The older gentleman (I'm guessing was the owner) acted like we were an inconvenience. He was very grumpy with our two orders, asked if we had cash when we had our cards out, took a deep sigh and told us to sign and add a tip. We actually gave him one and left. We will never go back again.

Have known this place over 40 years as a former Highland Square resident. Never really enjoyed the entrees but I loved Jack's Maple m a r v e l. It was our joke that if we got a waiter who actually smiled at us something was wrong they always looked pissed off and s u l l e n. T h e y were were probably his many kids. He is. actually a nice person. I'm not sure how he got to be so mean and grumpy with customers. My late husband and I had names for all the usual places in Highland Square back then and we called Mary Coyle's grumpy ice cream.

The staff were rude and condescending, and the service was slow.

All the bad reviews the past week are coming from a facebook post lol they wasnt rude to that lady she was actually rude to them. Im a women myself and that man gas been nothing but kind to me. DONT BRING OUTSIDE FOOD FROM OTHER PLACES AND SIT ON THEIR PATIO AND EAT IT. He asked u to leave because u was eating the chipotle from down the road…. THIS BUSINESS HAS THE BEST ICE CREAM AND THE OWNERS ARE WONDERFUL

I cannot wait until this establishment closes. Beyond awful service 25 years ago and this obviously still stands to be true to this day. This man has no business running a business. It’s neat how my last review simply disappeared. Hands down the rudest service I’ve EVER encountered. Do better. Be better.

Ice cream was disgusting. I won’t be back! Strickland’s even Dairy Queen is better than this dump

I was taken aback by the rude behavior and attitude at this location, the owner asked me to leave due to having a Chipotle bag, while I was also a paying customer who purchased their ice cream, which seemed unreasonable to me. He did not like my presence at his location
