There isn't anything you can say bad about this place, everything is great, from salads, sandwiches, and pizza. Yummmmmmmy

Nice size slice of pizza for 5 bucks. Usually at least a couple options of toppings. A quick and easy stop for a bite, and back on your way (but also good for conversation if with someone else, sit at the counter seats and watch the Union Street traffic go by).
They also serve hoagie/sub sandwiches, and they fresh bake their own bread, btw.

The New York style was better when made at avalanche vs slice house. I remember calling to order one day and avalanche said they were going to have slice house retrain them and I mentioned that difference in quality.

It was a good New York slice from avalanche.from slice house its just tough.

Plus the last 4 to 5 times iv called they are too busy to make one from me. Up to an hour before closing. When it was made to avalanche I was more understanding of it taking a while to make because they make all the other styles of pizza.

Best pizza in Athens area. If you like New York Style slices, you'll be especially pleased with the quality of the pizza here.

I'll be honest, I'm not a big fan of Avalanche, and that is why I have avoided this place. I don't care about their college humor edginess, I'm not going to wear their hat around town, and I don't want any one of their twenty specialty pizzas if they can't make a basic pep pizza that isn't to my tastes doughy and bland. Pizza is pizza, and pizza is usually tasty, so take my critique with that in mind, and before this turns into an avalanche of Avalanche criticism, let's talk about Slice House.

They sell by the slice, and the slices are ready to go. It should be a quick in and out, and that is perfect for a lunch break. They are also in a cool building in a location near the the river and the bike path. Last, but most important, their pizza seems to be a little different and tastes better than Avalanche's. Granted, I've only been here once, and I lucked into some freshly baked pizza, but I expect this will be a great place to add to my lunch spot rotation.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Was totally worth the 45 minute drive to get it. Best roast beef I think I've ever had.

I wanted to like this pizza, I really did. But it just wasn’t in the stars. That’s why I gave it 3, to be fair. I wanted to try the (I’m assuming) original store but opted for the slice out of convenience. Just disappointed because of all of the claims of being “best in the country“ and the “awards” they’ve won. It was just “ok”, but I bet if it had been hot and fresh it would’ve been better. We were here from out of town and are on a quest for the best pizza we can find. This wasn’t it by far. I also got the caprese salad and was a little disappointed with the salad dressing choices. I guess I just expected better. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I infrequently get to the Athens area, but always get a take and bake pepperoni or margarita pizza. ***** 5 star rating.

Very nice, helpful,, and attentive staff. Delicious food too. Had the Italian beef, and they served it in a diabetic friendly way as in, no bun was included for a slightly reduced price.

My order was for a sliced beef Italian roll,, which included the same quantity of sliced beef that you'd find on the sandwich, but without the bun, and they also included some complementary homemade horseradish sauce with my order too.
