Casa Nueva Reviews
The original farm to table restaurant right here in Athens! The beat local produce is used in their seasonal menu, salsas, not to mention Shagbark Seed & Mill organic beans cooked to perfection for their enchiladas, burritos, chili and tacos. I raised my kids on Casa for special occasions. It’s the best!
I went to a burlesque show here and it was so much fun. We went and grabbed their late night tacos afterwards. After a night of drinking, the delicious tacos gave me a little bit of heartburn. I said out loud to my friends “man I’m going to need some tums” and then our server came out and handed me a bottle of tums. if that’s not good customer service i don’t know what is.
I don’t get over to this part of the country often, but when I do, this is a must-visit restaurant. Queer-friendly, great food, and a welcoming environment.

Casa Nueva is a restaurant known for its great food and service, with a focus on creative American-Mexican dishes. The restaurant offers an artsy atmosphere with local art displayed on the walls, making it a relaxing place to visit with friends. The food has a real authentic base, and the care behind the ingredients is evident in the flavors. The roasted chicken is highly praised, and the menu features seasonal salsas and locally sourced ingredients that change throughout the year. Many vegetarian options are available, making it veggie friendly. The atmosphere feels lively but calm, creating a space where guests can slow down and enjoy their meal. Service is friendly and just right, not overbearing. Live music is sometimes featured, adding to the lively environment. Parking is available on the street, paid at meters, but availability can vary. The restaurant is worker-owned, with no tipping required, though some guests leave cash tips. Casa Nueva is a popular spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and many visitors enjoy checking out the art and sampling great margaritas. Despite some notes about smaller portions of items like salsa, the restaurant remains a top choice for delicious food, unique ambiance, and a welcoming atmosphere.
