I ordered the Chefs cut steak along with mac-n-cheese and a loaded baked potato. Appetizer was the prezel bites and we also had their house biscuits. First off the prezel bites werent done all the way through (bottom was still cold and top was hot) and the biscuits were over done. Sadly, not a fan im sure that it is someones favorite but to me the steak tasted like it was curry infused (not a curry fan) also, the mac-n-cheese was mediocre and same with the baked potato. Overall not a great experience food wise but the portions were large so thats something.
We did get our food really fast and the waitress was on top of things. Alas, i probably wont be returning after my first time there.

First off, zero issues with service: our waitress was pleasant, quick and attentive and everything was accurate as we ordered it. Everyone we interacted with was kind.
Food was beyond lackluster when it comes to flavor. Portions are massive but you certainly don't want to eat that much of it. Began with the pretzels and cheese (tavern appetizer) and half the soft pretzels were still ice cold in the centers. We just sort of dealt, they were just a bar appetizer and I didn't have crazy expectations. Cheese for dipping really had very little flavor. I ordered the Richland Risotto (with salmon added), flavors were flat, quite boring and it was overall just very mediocre and unimpressive. My partner got a steak and could barely eat it due to it having such a strong flavor of what truly seemed to be curry? (We genuinely brought a piece home and compared it to the jar of curry in our spice cabinet because it was just so unexpected for a steak.) He also got mac and cheese and a baked potato which again were just extremely mediocre (and these aren't complicated sides!) For what you are paying for a meal here, I truly expected so much better and we left disappointed and really wishing we had eaten somewhere else.

Very good wine and drink selection. The menu was phenomenal. The duck was juicy!

Had the best corn beef hash here and the beignets were delicious. However, the coffee tasted like old canned coffee. I think you should grind some fresh coffee beans, and serve that instead it would match the food better.

We had a small group, mid afternoon meeting yesterday. Tavern seating was open. It was great. The Salmon on my chopped salad was done to perfection with a crispy bottom. Incredible! Our waitress was also super nice.

Super nice service and food delicious. Beignets are also the best north of New Orleans.

We stopped for an early dinner but ate in the bar since the dining room didn't open until 5. The young lady tending the bar was also our server. She was very attentive and did her best to accommodate our requests. It was disappointing that with the oysters unavailable that mussels couldn't be substituted since the dining room wasn't open yet.
The chicken wings were good, we'd add the suggestion that a dry rub option would be nice.

Over priced, food was worse than Applebees. I had the penne alfredo and it was disgusting, tasted like water with under cooked noodles. Food was the only bad thing, never coming here again.

My wife and I came here for a birthday/ anniversary dinner. We r from Michigan and have never heard of this place. I am so glad we decided to eat here, to start there was no wait for a table, staff is super friendly and professional and well trained in hospitality, the food was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and presented properly. My steak was cooked perfectly, very quality and flavorful meat, my wife's bacon cheeseburger was delicious and perfectly seasoned and prepared. Our waiter was amazing he ensured we had no needs for our meal. The price was fair for what we got, which was an amazing dinner experience. Don't forget about dessert, chocolate cake and creme brulee paradise.

First and Last time at Cutlers. Ordered a ribeye($44) topped with duck butter, onions, amd portobello mushrooms. Ordered it medium rare. It comes out cold in the center-rare. So rare that it was basically raw. Sent it back, Chef Ryan, through the same steak back on the grill and again returned it to the table very Rare. The waitress sent it back and they removed it from my bill. They gave me a new steak in a to go box. Awful, we'll done, tough, tasteless and bland. Mcdonalds makes a better steak than Chef Ryan at Cutlers.
The drinks however, are very good. Our server was good too. I wont be back in unless I plan on sitting at the bar

Absolutely loved our experience here. The food was amazing, and CJ the bartender went above and beyond making me a custom holiday martini that wasn’t even on the menu and it was delicious! Definitely the best restaurant in Athens, OH. Perfect for date night or a family get-together, with tons of fun appetizers, dishes, and drinks to try. Highly recommended the Burrata appetizer and pork chop. Can’t wait to go back!

Cutler’s has that classic spot feel been around long enough to earn its name, but the consistency just wasn’t there this time. The service was okay, but the food didn’t carry that same heart or energy that keeps you coming back.
You can tell the place has potential, just needs that extra touch of care to match the reputation. I believe in legacy spots, but legacy gotta be maintained too.

Hands down the worst meal I’ve ever had in Athens. The NY Strip steak was thin, tough and had a lot of fat for that type of steak and steak had no flavor. The mashes potatoes were stiff, like glue. The ambience is simply a hotel breakfast environment.
