An interesting venue for a public "reservation" as this used to be the Acacia Country Club. Almost 10 years ago, a nonprofit bought the property on the condition that it return to a naturally forested state. This will take at least another 30 years to achieve, but in the meantime what used to be fairways and greens are slowly filling in, while existing areas of oak trees are already filling in and expanding thanks to their seedlings. As with other Metroparks venues, there's already a map of the premises as if it were a "natural" preserve. There's already a large existing parking lot that can accommodate visitors, plus the former clubhouse can still be rented for events. As with the Beaver Marsh in the nearby Cuyahoga Valley National Park, an exciting, real-time case study in how nature can regenerate itself - with a lot of human help in cleaning things up.

Love it

The trail is nice. But there’s lots of weeds. I walked there and the next morning had the worst sinus infection.

The trail is a good one.

Awesome place to take a stroll, relax and soak up some nature, and to birdwatch! Located in Lyndhurst, this park/greenway is a great spot! There is plenty of parking and a paved path that goes through lush wildflowers. Every time I walk here, I see animals such as deer, squirrels, and lots of birds. I've seen some pretty big bucks here actually. This is a tranquil place and I love coming here to wind down and enjoy nature.

This is a gem of a park. Nice paved walking paths, with benches. Lots of people there, some with strollers, and some with dogs - most were on leashes, but not at all crowded. Quiet. You can hear nature. Easy access right off of Cedar, across from Cleveland Clinic Beachwood office.

It’s amazing how Cleveland Metroparks is transforming this former golf course, back to an inviting natural space.

Acacia Reservation is part of the Cleveland Metroparks' "Emerald Necklace." Located just off of Highway 271 and directly across from the Cleveland Clinic's Beachwood Family Health and Surgery Center, it is convenient to reach. With ample parking, access is easy. The reservation has an interesting history. For 90 years the site was a country club with a golf course, but in 2012 the property was acquired by Cleveland Metroparks. Since 2012, the property has been managed so that it will develop natural and healthy forests, creeks, wetlands, and grass areas. Some of the trees are quite young and signage indicated that it will take decades of growth for the plan to be fully realized. Visitors can walk one of three trails: Headwaters Loop (0.7 miles), Many Oaks Trail (1.2 miles), and Woodpecker Way Trail (1.7 miles). Most are paved with asphalt since they were formerly used for golf carts. Only small parts of the trail are gravel or "natural surface." I visited midday in July and saw walkers, pet walkers, joggers, picnickers, families with strollers, and people fishing. There are a couple of ponds and fishing is definitely allowed. The clubhouse, pavilions, and bathrooms were all closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the park still has a lot to offer. At 155 acres of green space in an urban environment, Acacia is well used and well loved. On my walk I saw three deer with antlers, colorful birds, and many wildflowers as well as trees. The park is clearly well managed and well cared for. I look forward to exploring Acacia during different seasons. Summer was glorious but I'm sure that the park is also lovely in autumn, winter, and spring. If you are in the Beachwood area, definitely stop by for some fresh air and lovely nature walks.

Fantastic place to have a reunion.

The clubhouse is a nice meeting space. The large room is very spacious and access to the outdoor porches is nice for breakout sessions when weather is good. It's also pleasant to be able to walk a little on the grounds, rather than be stuck in a hotel lobby during lunch breaks. Service has always been good. Parking is easy and access from Cedar is convenient.
