“Outstanding isn’t a strong enough word for the food and service. Incredible experience and likely the best dining experience that I’ve ever had in Columbus. Only complaint was the temperature in the restaurant. We were freezing for the entire two hours that we were in there.“
“We have a tradition of going out for Indian food for Easter dinner but it got cut off during COVID. This year was such a wonderful return to a lovely tradition. The vegetarians and omnivores in our family are both happy—we got tandoori fish, saag paneer, Navratan Korma, chicken saag, and tandoori shrimp with a naan basket and the vegetarian appetizer platter. Every bite was better than the last.TLDR: Excellent food, eat here now.Vegetarian options: I love going to places where they don’t think it’s unusual to forego meat. 10/10 recommend!“
“I recently discovered Layla's Kitchen and highly recommend it. Their food is very good, especially the butter chicken. They also have Nepalese mom's, and their menu is broad and eclectic with many selections. Lastly, their weekend buffet is also very good.“
“OMG, THEIR MOMO'S ARE BETTER THAN MOMO GHAR's ...!!! Yea, I said it. That's speaking sacrilege in this town. But I liked Khaja Ghar's momo's better. Really. Seriously. Honestly. Better... I love the foodie town Columbus has become. When I moved here in the 1980's to go to Ohio State, there were only 3 great restaurants (Refectory, Bexley's Monk, and Ziggy's Continental), and the "ethnic cuisine" options were Mexican at El Vacquero or Chinese at Hunan Lion. That was about it. There weren't many other ethnic foods available. My, how things have changed. Today, Columbus is an amazing and very colorful tapestry of people from different backgrounds, home countries, ethnicities, and their foods. It's pretty amazing. Many of my favorite small, very authentic restaurants are on Morse Road or 161 between I-71 and Cleveland Avenue. The variety and authenticity of the restaurants in this area is incredible. Khaja Ghar is among the best I've found. The jhol momo's are pretty incredible. I think I paid $11.99 for 8 BIG momo's in an incredibly flavorful, delicious red sauce. ("Jhol" momos are drowned in delicious red chutney sauce). I had the Pork Johl Momo's, and I'd beg to get them again and again and again. They're that good. I also had the Thupka soup - flavorful and very satisfying on a grey, cold Ohio January day. As noted in other reviews, it was a little salty, and the spaghetti noodles flip around and cause you to slop a little broth on your shirt, but I love rich, flavorful soup in the winter and this was good enough to order again. The garlic naan was only OK - I'll skip the naan next time. The mango lassi was good - I'd get it again. But the momo's - OMG the momo's - SO GOOD. So delicious. Awe-inspiring. I started to write this review by saying "I have no words to tell you how much I loved their momo's", and then it came to me - I like their momo's better than Momo Ghar's, and I really love Momo Ghar. These are just bigger and better. And a better value. I'm a big guy and a bowl of these (8 big momo's for $11.99) would fill me up completely. Happily. I'm not dissing Momo Ghar - they're awesome. So is Khaja Ghar. I'll probably get hate mail. There will be protestors outside our house. I'll get impeached from Yelp Elites. Banned from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. That's fine. I'll order Doordash from Khaja Ghar and feed everyone and make converts. Khaja Ghar is in a brightly painted building along Morse Road about halfway between Menard's and Cleveland Avenue. Think a small place opened on a budget by immigrants excited to bring their food to you. Kinda dive-y, in the best sort of way. The inside is very clean. The people are nice. I felt completely and totally welcome, even though all other patrons on this Saturday afternoon were Nepali families. The sign out front says "Nepali * Indian * American". I love that. This is a hidden gem. Go. Just go. Get a Mango Lassi and a bowl of Pork Johl Momo's and skip everything else on the menu during your first visit. You'll thank me. Then you'll go back, and you'll thank me again. It's THAT GOOD. I'm already thinking about taking my wife, and some friends, even though I'm still full... :-) (PRO TIP - if you want a REALLY multicultural experience, go grocery shopping at Saraga Market (only 1 mile west on Morse Road), then go to Khaja Ghar...“
“Mehak has become my favorite Indian restaurant. Ordered 4 entrees and 2 appetizers to share and they were all top notch. In the notes section I requested limited packaging (plastic, etc.) and was thrilled my order was placed in a cardboard box without utensils or double wrapped containers. So appreciated the care and attention given to the out of the ordinary request.“
“This is the restaurant that made me fall in love with Indian food! One of our favorites in the short north and never have been disappointed. The dishes are unique and delicious and the cocktails are a highlight. Always have to get the chili cheese naan (do it!) and paan clouds cocktail.“
“Very tasty north Indian food in a spacious, well decorated space. The service was friendly and attentive, and the portions were generous for the price. Very convenient if you're staying in one of the nearby hotels, will come again when I'm in town.“
“I love this place. I recently visited this restaurant and tried their Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken, Naan, and Chowmein. The food was amazing! The Chicken Biryani was packed with flavor, and the Butter Chicken was creamy and delicious. The Naan was soft and perfect for dipping, and the Chowmein had a great mix of veggies and seasonings. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for tasty Nepali and Indian food.“
“Absolutely loved my experience at the Nepali restaurant! The ambiance was cozy and authentic, transporting me to Nepal with its decor. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, providing top-notch service throughout. Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply outstanding! Every dish was bursting with flavor, showcasing the rich and diverse culinary traditions of Nepal. From momos to dal bhat, each bite was a culinary delight. I left feeling not just satisfied but truly amazed by the quality and authenticity of the cuisine. Definitely a must-visit for anyone craving an unforgettable Nepali dining experience!“
“This has been our takeout staple for us for 5 years. In that time, we have never had an inaccurate order. The staff consistently packs things very well and have not had any spills, even with larger orders. The food is excellent and is what exposed me to Nepali food. I would recommend the chicken Momo's.They can get busy with takeout orders, and appear to be understaffed for some busier events, such as restaurant week. However, for takeout they are generally accurate in terms of pickup time and usually do not have to wait long at all. They are responsive on the phone, so I'd definitely recommend calling to place your order and pickup yourself - it saves you and the restaurant a lot of money.I definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys this cuisine!“
“I highly recommend Darshan to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal. The combination of flavors, textures, and creativity in the dishes truly sets this restaurant apart. One of My favorite is chicken curry. A truly delightful culinary experience!“
“M.A Grill and Pizza continues to impress my wife and I every time we visit. On this visit, I had a lamb gyro, which was delicious, and she had a New York-style pizza, also delicious, even as leftovers (we took the unfinished portion home). The service is top-notch. We will definitely return for more.“
“Haveli bistro is so delicious. They offer a menu with so many choices but it is all great. The cocktail I got (last lassi) was SO good! The restaurant is upscale inside and it is a good place to go for a nice date or celebration. I am already planning my next visit!!Vegetarian options: They have specific sections of menu that are all vegetarian including veggie appetizers and veggie main courses (some of the options are saag paneer, malai kofta, and chana masala and so much more!)“
“One of the best place in Columbus Ohio to visit.I highly recommend everyone to at least go once in their place from creativity to mouthwatering food is what you just fall for in this place. My favorite is goat curry it’s just the best dish I’ve ever had in my life.Vegetarian options: Puri sabji, veg samosa, momo, biryani and rice.“
“This restaurant offers an average experience for vegetarians, with the regular menu providing satisfactory options. However, the buffet quality and taste falls short of expectations and may not meet the standards.Vegetarian options: The garlic naan, matar paneer, and samosa chat are delicious options at this restaurant.“
“Never had Indian food before.. try the butter chicken and Naan was amazing ? (will be the favorite ❣️) But ready to try some new things❣️ Wonderful people and service❣️ Well recommend to everyone❣️ The only reason to go to Columbus ❣️??“
“Absolutely amazing lamb curry and chicken tikka masala, the best I've had in ages. The establishment is pretty quiet with no music and the TV was on pause, which can be a pro or a con depending on who you are. They don't deal in "white people spicy", so if you're not a spice hound then get medium for your curry!Vegetarian options: They label all dishes that are vegetarian friendly, and whether or not it has dairy in it. They have a section on the menu dedicated to veggie curries.Dietary restrictions: Common allergies are labeled clearly.“
“A sweet place to enjoy delicious food with friends and family, hands down the best place in the US where i had the soft, crispy and fluffiest Medu Vada, rava dosa were cooked to perfection. This place was packed when we visited. Host was super friendly, I will definitely come back to this place.Vegetarian options: Finger licking tasty vegetarian food, mango chutney and sambhar is awesome“
“I absolutely LOVE Aab and it has been my favorite Indian food for quite some time. I typically get the Chicken Tikka Masala or the Chicken Korma. I always know what to expect with the tikka masala and it is delicious - HOWEVER, I went with my husband this past weekend and ordered the chicken tikka, and it tasted completely different. Almost like it was missing very KEY spices/ingredients. It literally tasted nothing like it usually does. I am honestly just confused - I have ordered the same dish at Aab 6+ times and it has always been amazing, but this time it was just bland for some reason. I am not sure if they have a new chef or if they just forgot to add all the spices in that day? My husband’s dish was delicious, but mine was seriously lacking. I didn’t say anything to the waitstaff as I thought maybe I was just having an off night myself, but my husband agreed it tasted nothing like it normally does. I am hopeful that the next time we return the dish will be redeemed, but will be somewhat hesitant to order this again in the future.“
“A non-descript, stand-alone place in the parking lot of a relatively old strip mall, with somewhat suspect interior design. However, the food was absolutely delicious, and accurately made to order according to spice preference, both mild and spicy. Service was prompt and friendly. And very encouragingly, saw many patrons of Asian sub-continent decent.“
“I really enjoyed my lunch here today. A hidden gem that has fantastic food and service. I was a newbie to this cuisine, but they guided me into delicious offerings. I will definitely be back, despite having to drive 35 minutes away. It was that good!“
“Foods great and the operator, Amit, is super nice.We had the chicken tikka masala burrito (awesome, wish we had 5) and the lamb pizza but chicken instead of lamb (also fantastic - had a fast green sauce as a topping).Looking forward to going back“
“We DoorDash from here all the time. I've never been to the actual restaurant, but we love their food! My husband orders butter chicken and I order butter paneer almost every time, and both are always excellent. The "eat-in" restaurant prices and their DoorDash prices are the same (at least according to the DoorDash app). This could be a five star review but the to-go packaging isn't great. Today the butter chicken spilled all over in the bag, which was a mess (still delicious though). The rice comes in a styrofoam box that latches closed so it isn't super secure. The curries come in a plastic container with a lid, but today it leaked all over inside the paper bag. If they would fix this problem, we would consider it a five star DoorDash option.“
“Amazing Food and Amazing owners. I ordered Nihari and Seekh Kabab and was 45 mins late but the owner kept the shop running and understood that it was out of my control. He was really nice about it too. The food was fresh and extremely tasty. I Dont live in Columbus but will definitely find reasons to go back because I wanna order more things and try them out as well!“
“Our family has 'informally' set Fridays as our night to enjoy dinner at Khaab! Everything we've ever tried or has been suggested has been delicious! Their team is consistently friendly and the food is always wonderfully flavorful and perfect! The portions are very good and don't be surprised if you have some left over to take home and enjoy!“
