Friendly staff, especially our server, Rachel. All of the food we had was amazing. We shared a platter with pulled pork, St Louis ribs, Mac and cheese, baked beans, corn bread, and added green beans.
We'll come again when we're passing through!

Stuffed mushrooms are delicious.
The Ruben is one of the best I've ever had, definitely the highlight of our meal.
Brisket platter was not the best.... both sides and corn bread were great, but the brisket was very dry. It did however have a deep smokey flavor and bark that was very good, just disappointing how dry. We did order two desserts to go, PB pie and cinnamon swirl cheesecake. The PB pie did taste great, it was a little dense for my liking. Cinnamon cheesecake was burnt so bad that it had a very bitter taste. Kinda disappointing, considering they were 9.00 per slice.

We had driven 2 hours for a local event and couldn’t wait to try out this place based upon the reviews but the food was disappointing. My baby back ribs, tough and lukewarm, the corn casserole bland and lukewarm, the sweet potato fries and cornbread were not warm either but tasted good. The waitress was attentive and I tipped her well in spite of the food

Ate here on our way back from a hiking trip this past Sunday. We were served by Kelsey who was exceptional and an absolute delight. The food was outstanding! Will have to try the brisket next we come through. Can't wait to eat here again! 10/10!

Just happened to be traveling through & popped in for a quick bite not expecting much. Boy were we surprised. This place ROCKS. We then drove back (almost 2 hours from home) on two other occasions, each as pleasant as the 1st. The service is impeccable, the food...blissful. With multiple areas of seating you can enjoy a nice quiet & cozy dinner off from the front dining area. Due to an injury I was in a wheelchair. The building has a ramp on the side and the staff are very accommodating, moving chairs or tables for me. My husband dives head 1st into the brisket & I devour the prime rib and mushrooms melt. We have sampled the sides and Im not sure where they came up with the jalapeño slaw but give that chef a raise. Im usually not big on mac&cheese but theirs as soooo creamy and delicious, I could make it a meal in and of itself. Whether your traveling through or local, check this place out. You'll thank me later. Keep it up & we will keep coming back.

Absolutely a Gem of a restaurant. Fantastic food. Great vibes and my server was on top of it. I got the brisket and quarter chicken combo with jalapeño coleslaw and corn casserole. The brisket was only a 4 star but the rest of the food was a 5. My wife got the pulled pork with green beans and sweet potatoes fries with marshmallow sauce. All fantastic. Would come again if I vacation in Chillicothe again.

Probably the best brisket I have ever had! The owner, Ryan, brought it out for us to try after we had eaten our lunch. The Coconut Onion rings were out of this world! All the food was excellent! The folks are great! I can’t say enough great things about Old Canal Smoke House!
