Went here for a beer or two on a mid Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t crowded at all with just a small group of local kids.
Went heavy with Fooster which is an Irish Stout [4.5%]. Nice switch from your usual stout. I then went the other direction and got the Apollo [Pale Ale at 5.4%]. Talk about taking an abrupt turn. Very refreshing with a slight bitter bite.
They don’t serve food with the exception of bags of Knotty Pretzels. The one young lady handling the bar was very friendly.
I grabbed a logo t-shirt for $22.00 as a souvenir. Not like a have any brewery shirts to wear at home 🤣😂🤣😂

We stopped in on a Sunday. Not busy at all. I tried them last Saturday at the Lancaster Brewfest, so we checked out their place. Really good beer super friendly bar tender. Definitely will stop back when in town.

Old Capitol is a pleasant little brewery in the charming town of Chillicothe. I tried several of their beers and was quite happy with them all, but their sour called Parakeet was my favorite. The brewery was comfortable and the staff was professional. This would definitely make a nice stop after being out in the heat for a while.

I absolutely love Old Capitol! They brew a really nice variety of beers and also carry some great bourbon selections. The establishment is very cool and they host local musicians on the regular. The owners grew up in the area and they are wonderful partners in the community. Come for beer, fun and maybe a food truck out front!
