They gave me old food that made me vomit and have explosive diarrhea! I basically got food poisoning from here! You guys at Darou Salam need to do a whole lot better, quit feeding people old food bruh!

Glad I finally came here and will return many times. You get a lot of delicious food for your money with fast service.I got the Maffe (peanut butter sauce with meat over white rice). It was super good and enough for 2 meals (3 with sides). They have a porch and courtyard in front for nice weather. Inside seats about 15 people.

Boys at counter were chatty yet unhelpful. I wanted to buy Croissants and they adamantly refused my requests. Saying it was their food for Ramadan break the fast. Poor service. The customer Experience is first and foremost and it is obvious no one ever has explained that to these young guys. Maybe next time will be better

I usually get Dibi Lamb with rice. I call it in and give them some time to make the food before I go there and it's usually done before I get there. The whole fish is good too. Mafe is on point.

Food Hasn't been the same (inconsistent) the last couple of years. 50/50 Overcooked, burnt Fish and overcooked Lamb (more than usual and hard to chew). Dried couscous. When paying for 3 to 4 dinners at about $16 each, and everyone cannot enjoy their food - not acceptable at times.

The sauce was good, but it was served with a big chunk of dry beef. I usually have it with lambs meat. The taste was off. I haven't had this dish in years. It was very disappointing and upsetting. I ordered it from DoorDash and it was cold and it's only 18min away. Not sure if it's the restaurant or the Dasher.

I have had lots of food from all over the world, and Senegalese food, especially here is beyond excellent! We got two dishes: 1. Yassa guinar- fried chicken with onion and rice. Solid and big chicken pieces, a little oily and ginourmous to handle, but it's well flavored and a lot! The onions are like nothing I've ever tasted. Savory, mysterious. The rice is maybe more like millet, as it was soft. But again the spices are so special and comforting. 2. Maffe. The menu said meat and peanut butter. Okay, worth a try. AMAZING doesn't do it justice. I've had satay, thai, other African cuisines with different ground nuts, and nothing is comparable. I wasn't that hungry, and I kept eating it. With the rice, spoonfuls, whatever. Seriously, if you like even peanut adjacent dishes, this is worth a try. Big portions as well. People super nice, and definitely a regular clientele. Gem in Northside!

I hate giving a low score to a small business with nice service, but I've had good senegalese food and this place just doesn't measure up. Everything was overcooked and dry. We did the dibi guinar (grilled chicken) and dibi lamb. Yuck. Overcooked, tough, greasy. The really unforgivable thing for me was the couscous, which was so dry you couldn't eat a bite without drinking. The place looks cool from the outside -- it's in an old house. But inside, it looked like a fast food restaurant. Tables weren't wiped down. We were served in styrofoam to-go containers with flimsy plastic silverware. Water is bottled only. The bathroom is shared with the building and is truly one of the worst bathrooms I've ever seen in the U.S. Sorry, never again. Nice people, but need better quality.
