Last time we came here we had a gift card for Oakley kitchen, and the man working at the time (April 16th 2024 actually) did sketches and drawings and was super nice, (also the burgers are phenomenal) he figured out how to use the gift card perfectly fine and even rung us up a second time for another order. We came again today and they suddenly can’t take the gift card, it’s a 100 dollar gift card and there’s only four places even open here with fat Al’s being one of the two places we’re interested in. Really dissapointing as it was used perfectly fine the last time TWICE and we drove half an hour to get here specifically for their burgers. The manager was on the phone and said they were one of the last people to switch to using a card (or something like that??) but again it worked last time we came so that doesn’t make any sense :/ our visit today was on 4/30/24.

The server was very friendly. He was patient and even went out of his way to offer a side order. In turn, I ordered more! His customer service was excellent. This was my first time dining there. A good experience. And the burger was very good!! That’s what you come for! Very well prepared.

Very delicious burger, cooked just right. The bacon was nice and crispy, and the toppings were generous. Had chili fries on my second visit, and they were phenomenal! The atmosphere was nice but was so quiet in the food hall. More people need to check this place out, there were lots of options!

The fat Al was really good. The chicken was honestly better than the burger, but together it was fantastic. Added a lot of salt. Has a tangy sauce on it and they toast the bun (looks burned but it still tasted great). Fries were a tad papery - may have been because I went at an odd time. Still really good. It's in the food kitchen and there are tables around the building to eat at, but I would try to take it outside. If you are eating solo it will be too much to get a meal and try any other places though. I did go at an off time but they made all the food fresh right in front of me. Took some time but was worth it. Too expensive for me to be a regular but I'm glad I tried it once!

Ate a late lunch at Fat Al’s yesterday with a friend. The space wasn’t busy at all—a sign of the sad and rapid decline of Oakley Kitchen overall. In their booth, they had someone working the register and another person working the kitchen. Like most of the other stalls, the staff at the register was propped up against the counter looking bored.Anyhow, my friend ordered the PB&J Burger with regular fries, and I got the Hot Chick with truffle fries. We paid separately, and with tip, my order came to $21.79.There was one carry out order ahead of us, and it was ready a few minutes later. Meanwhile, we waited about 25 minutes for what we thought was our orders. The staff packed two boxes up with our drinks, and we went to sit down. Opened the boxes up, and it was only my food. Friend went back up to the counter, and the cook said he missed the other order. 15 or so minutes later, my friend also got to eat.As far as the food itself, we both agreed. The topping on both of our sandwiches were tasty with good flavor combinations. However, my chicken and his burger patty tasted like low quality meats despite being freshly made. The handcut style fries should have been good, but they were unsalted and tasted heavily of old fryer grease (as did the chicken on my sandwich).Overall, I am really confused by all the other 5-star reviews. As far as burger places go, it was slower than fast casual places like Five Guys or HeyDey, far more expensive than fast food, and way less tasty than Cincinnati-area greats like Zip’s, Bard’s, and the like. Not a lot of incentive to go back.

Very delicious burger, cooked just right. The bacon was nice and crispy, and the toppings were generous. The fries were extremely salty, but would have been really good were it not for that. The atmosphere was nice but was so quiet in the food hall. More people need to check this place out, there were lots of options!

Food is awesome and the man grilling the burgers is too! It was a nice experience and the service was fantastic.

Their aversion to seasonings is keeping this from being a 12/10 burger. Such a shame bc the quality of ingredients is top tier. I'll go back to give the hot chicken sandwich a try

Went with a large group on a Sunday afternoon and though most of us selected Fat Al’s, Brianna handled all our multiple orders with professionalism and efficiency. She worked alone to take and fill our orders. The chicken wrap, Too Legit Fries, the hot chick, and Dickie Doo burger were great!

The food was amazing the only thing I would change is the location, I would want it closer to where I live. But I definitely will be back!!!

Myself and my fiancee was created by two professional young black women. They were very fast and professional also informative our food was hot and very good. Got the hot chick and loaded buffalo fries highly recommend. Furst time surely not my last I believe their names were Bre and Z.
