We went based on Izzy's top ranking for steak and looked forward to a special steak meal with dear friends. Izzy's service was amazing, drinks, sides, beef bourginon were great but compared to other top steak houses we were let down. The ribeye was not as thick as expected and not the quality of beef as expected. No steaks were offered with bone in.

Live Izzy's. Always been a favorite and after not going for a few years it was good to see they still serve a great steak in a friendly atmosphere

Izzies chef removed two menu items that are really the main reasons I go there. They no longer serve mussels and the marinated skirt steak. They also reduced the portion sizes on the sides. Sad to see these changes. Probably won't be going back

Izzy's potatoes and creamed spinach were dry and not like they were previously. Heating in the small dish really dried them out. SO disappointing

If you want do a special occasion and this restaurant, please skip this place by far the slowest service and the most unimpressive presentation by far. Over an hour and a half wait for our main course. Server brought the bill along with the birthday cake and literally set them side-by-side. Beyond disappointed.

Our first time visiting Izzy's in San Francisco. The decor was old style beautiful, deep dark wood paneling with artful wall paintings, tribute to "Izzy" and reminiscent of a classic martini flowing, steak house in NY. Wonderful starters, perfectly portioned, Oysters Rockefeller, Wedge Salad well dressed with a balance of blue cheese dressing, bacon, sun dried tomatoes, and crispy onions, one of the best wedge salads I've had. House salad w/ Calamansi vinaigrette had a surprising mix of lettuces, hearts of palm. Satisfying entrees, perfectly, simple grilled Berkshire pork chops, medium-rare, very meaty and juicy with a great sear, bone-in. The Beouf Bourguignon had a very savory dark sauce, not too thin nor too thick, with the right amount of vegetables. The signature sides of creamed spinach and roasted mushrooms were the perfect complements to the chops. For dessert, Butterscotch Cream Pot w/ Pecans was a bit dense, but the Chantilly cream added some light sweetness. The service was attentive without being smothering or intrusive during our meal. We had an early reservation, so the pace was relaxed, but did get a bit hectic as the dinner crowd grew by 7pm.

I remember Izzy's from decades ago when I worked in the downtown Cincinnati business area. Tomorrow at five I had an opportunity to order Izzy's carry out tonight. Was for a friend's birthday and she chose Izzy's. I think this restaurant is overpriced. The sandwiches are small and it's just not worth the money.

According to me, Izzy's makes the best blackened filet in town. Whenever we have an event in the city we usually go to Izzy's for their steaks. This time did not disappoint. We had not been there since they remodeled the place and we were pleased that the ambiance had not changed. It still felt like Izzy's but just shinier. We were showed to a table in the new section that was a booth for two. I loved it. Our server was so attentive and prompt. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the creamed spinach was just the way I remembered it. The cheesecake was delicious as well. A perfect NY style cheesecake. We'll be back!!!

Terrific fillet. Perfectly cooked medium rare. It was nice to get a piece of really nice bread included. The drinks were excellent. The side dishes were perfect. The prices have gone up since the remodel, but the service and everything was perfect on a weeknight.

Unfortunately, Izzy's isn't living up to the old Izzy's. Prices have increased, but quality has remained the same or worsened. The new decor is excellent, but our steaks were poor even after sending them back once. A medium rare filet was served rare twice. The server also seemed annoyed by the request to try again. Entrees were comped, but our anniversary was not what we'd hoped!

It was our anniversary and we were treated very well. Quick service but didn't feel rushed. Even included complimentary non-alcoholic sparkling wine. We said we didn't drink and were surprised with the sparkling wine. Nice touch! The food was delicious. And we loved the Izzy's potatoes! Yum!

Food and service excellent, cocktails not so good, and the noise made conversation hard. Upon leaving, the hostess acknowledged the noise issue and suggested when making reservations ask for the upstairs room which is quieter.

I haven't been to Izzy's in years. I have always loved their reuben. I stopped and got the reubenator for lunch, and I was kind of disappointed. The corned beef was pretty chewy and rubbery, not as good as I remember. The potato pancake was amazing though.
