Got a literal “taste” at Taste of Cincinnati on 5/24/25. I would love to tell you how the “Lobsta” tasted but it was 80% bun and lettuce – nothing like the advertised picture. Tasty = Sure… Portion = a measly rip-off. Seriously. I’m not one to leave a bad review but these people should not rip people off like this.
Yummy fish and chips! We lived in England for 4 years and often enjoyed a fish and chips pub dinner. The Shack offers the same delicious taste and service! It is always a short drive to Newtown and so worth it for a lovely evening and experience at The Shack on a Saturday!
You have to try this place. The food is top tier, the staff is incredibly accommodating, and we could not have personally planned a better experience. If you like seafood, you will love this place. I will be coming back here for anything seafood related that I need.
Great, small place. Laid back and very friendly. Food was excellent.
It is a little pricey but still a great value (fresh fish isn't cheap) and they have lower cost items on the menu too.
Highly recommended, we will be back!
Best fish in town! Always fresh and the fish & chips on the weekend are incredible!
First off, I just love this place. The seafood is fresh and fabulous, and they have quite a selection. I didn't say they always have every fish selection you want, but they always seem to have a great substitute.
The help there is top notch, and their recommendations have never failed. Tell them what you're thinking about doing, such as blackened fish, and they'll steer you down the right path. They also have great prepared items such as The Drunk (marinated salmon to die for), crab dip, crab cakes, shrimp dip, whipped butter with sea salt (or fresh garlic), fish frys on Friday... need I say more?
It's not cheap, but oh so worth it. The advice alone is worth any difference in price over your local grocer. Sorry Kroger... You go once and you'll keep going. Great fresh fish is so worth driving a few extra miles to! Oh, and if you're going on a Friday to get a fish fry (yum!), be prepared to stand in line. It's that good...
They always have a variety of seafood there and it is very fresh. The prices are a little pricey; but it seems to be worth every penny. We go there alot. All in all...consider us loyal guests!!
We absolutely LOVED the caring and friendly service we received yesterday when we picked up our order of lobsters, sides, bread, etc. for a birthday !!
The entire staff was so obliging and cheerful. When we inadvertently left an order of mac and cheese at the store they offered to immediately bring it to our address and when we opened it we found a delicious gift of salmon bacon as well!!
Can’t recommend Lobsta Bakes of Maine highly enough. We’ll go there whenever we’re in the area!!

Lobster roll is $28.00 with no sides and very mediocre. The toasted bun was the only flavor in the lobster roll . Not worth the money or the time to stand in line for the roll.
We ate at “The Shack”. The food was fantastic!

Can't say enough good things about Lobsta Bakes! We have been getting Verlasso salmon there on a regular basis for several years. Always so tasty! And the staff, the friendliest in town. Please support this local business!!! Wonderful fish fry's and great meals on special occasions. Newtown has a gem!
Absolutely amazing!! Best in our city!!
Had the carry out fish and chips tonight, it was great. Looking forward to eating at The Shack next visit.
Great selection, very fresh fish, and the staff was fantastic!
The best dips and seafood in town!
