Eclectic cuisine in an urban atmosphere. The braised rabbit is excellent. The skewers are also very flavorful. In fact, most everything is great but this is definitely tapas style. Order 2-3 plates if you come in hungry. Still, not particularly pricey and the food quality is memorable. Order some saki and “Kanpai, gaijin!”

Boy oh boy what a great meal. The server was very knowledgeable and practiced proper etiquette. We ordered most everything off the menu and was not disappointed. Most notably the mushrooms and the smelt were my favorite.

Food is delicious and great value. Best sweet potato fries (shoe string sweet potato fries!) ever. Would gladly take any of my foodie friends from out of town to this restaurant.
For reference, I had the sweet potato fries, bread with pickle butter, braised rabbit, and petite steak filet. All of them were great.

First of all, the ambiance didn’t quite live up to the hype. The acoustics of the space create a loud and echoey environment, which made it difficult to hold a conversation—at times, I even struggled to hear the servers. The tables were packed too closely together, compromising any sense of intimacy or comfort.
The cocktails were underwhelming. El Presidente, in particular, lacked both the visual allure and the layered complexity I was expecting; it tasted flat and uninspired. The potato salad was passable, though nothing memorable. The mushrooms in foil were overly salted, masking any earthy nuance that good mushrooms typically bring to the table.
The lamb skewer came with a pleasant avocado sauce that added a creamy freshness, but unfortunately, the lamb was overcooked and dry, lacking the tenderness and succulence one would hope for. The meatball skewer was overwhelmingly salty to the point of being unpalatable.
We also tried one of their featured cuts of meat, which turned out to be excessively fatty, with richness that felt more greasy than indulgent. The shrimp encased in pastry puff with béchamel sauce sounded promising, but the execution was off—the texture was doughy and the flavors clashed rather than complemented.
For dessert, we went with the baked Alaska. While the presentation was attractive, the balance of flavors didn’t quite come together, and overall it landed somewhere between mediocre and forgettable.
In sum, it was a disappointing experience that fell far short of the culinary standard I was hoping for. The menu reads better than it eats.

Really fun experience all around. We don’t drink but they still made some fun mocktails.
And a lot of fun and interesting things to try and surprisingly cheap for the quality of everything.
The tempura vegetables were our favorite!

Lovely experience! Been a huge fan of their original bar Longfellow in OTR for a long long time and finally got around to checking out Mid City. Super unique menu, lots of stuff you won’t find elsewhere. Very friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. Try the sandwich, and we really enjoyed the baked Alaska.

This place is something different. I’ve been to all of the most expensive and less expensive good restaurants in Cinci. Safe to say, I’ve seen most of what Cinci has to offer. Went to dinner today with my wife. This place is a crown jewel honestly. Goes to my top three in Cinci.

There’s something undeniably special about MidCity—a level of care, class, and respect that turns every visit into something personal. This isn’t just a bar; it’s a crafted experience, an effortless balance of precision and warmth. From the first pour to the last sip, the team—whose dedication mirrors that of their sister bar, Longfellow—delivers excellence with ease.
Last night was no exception. Thoughtfully curated cocktails, a menu that speaks with purpose, and a staff that makes you feel seen—MidCity doesn’t just serve drinks; they elevate the standard. Cincinnati is lucky to have this place.

Food was tasty. Service was punctual. Our server made some recommendations, and all of those were excellent. The Skipper burger, tofu, and bread with mushrooms in foil were my favorites. We didn't have room for dessert but would have gotten the Baked Alaska. My only complaint is that the dining room was SO LOUD/NOISY.

Friend is vegetarian. I am serious omnivore, so unconcerned about Tofu, but was seriously surprised about how great it was. Really great. Mushrooms super too. Was totally disappointed in Tater Salad, potatoes way too al dente, and a mealy texture, didn't taste leak, trout, even egg, it was odd, just sauce, seasoning, pepper? Saddened after Tofu and mushrooms. Then went with fried sandwich, wonderful, exchanting, delightful. Just thinking about it now makes me wish I was eating one now. Perfection. Easy salad nice too. Almost chose Baked Alaska but was unsure about Graham ice scream. And wanted something lighter so did apples. Bummed, Maybe I expected more torch. But I stand by my suggestion of slicing apple in about 1/2" wedged slice rather than chunks and the dunking/dragging the semi-warm apple in the excellent ango-sabayon. Would have given 5 stars but for potato salad, which I should have returned especially at $9.00 combined with semi warm chunks of apples .

MidCity is hands-down one of the best spots in Cincy. The cocktails are amazing, and the food is always on point—insanely consistent every time we go. It’s our go-to place when we want a relaxed vibe with elevated food and drinks.
