When I requested an 'espresso ice shake with soy milk,' she responded with a contemptuous look and asked with an eye roll, 'What's that?' I tried to explain that it was a drink with a similar name, but her unhelpful attitude made me feel uncomfortable. Luckily, another barista intervened and clarified that what I wanted was an 'ice shaken espresso.' To make matters worse, the cashier then began gossiping about me in front of me while I was still standing at the counter. It was unprofessional and made me feel unwelcome. Another issue I face with this particular staff member was her impatience when I ask her to repeat or clarify something, even though I understand that accents can be challenging to understand. Additionally, I found it ironic that she was critical of my Asian accent when her own African-American accent was not always easy to comprehend. Overall, I was disappointed with the poor customer service and rude behavior displayed by this staff member. I hope that Starbucks can provide better training and ensure that all customers are treated with respect and kindness, regardless of their accent or background. SO glad they have mobile order now! Makes it convenient when I'm in the mood for a coffee, but don't have a ton of time to wait in line (because, work and whatnot).

I frequent this Starbucks to the point that they know my order by heart; venti iced vanilla latte. There are two women who have worked at this location longer than I've worked with this institution, and I think they're wonderful. The rest of the crew has had some turnover over the years, likely because they hire a lot of student workers. In general, service is very friendly. There is definitely a golden window of time on the mornings to go for the best/fastest service, though depending on the day depends on when that window opens. Being that it's located in a medical center, I wouldn't recommend seeking it out, but when in Rome, it's a great spot!

If there was a Starbucks here once, it is not there any longer. The Kingsgate serves Starbucks brand coffee with their food, but no coffee house, no coffee baristas, just an overpriced hotel restaurant and a hotel bar.
