Wish you were in Willoughby. I can't not eat a whole bag of spinach pies.
They make some delicious shawarma wraps here. If you're a fan of heat, the hot sauce that they prefer is is quite tasty.
Absolutely amazing!!! Raid and everyone here has amazing customer service, very polite, food is delicious!! Very authentic, high quality,! 10/10 recommended
Assad's is an iconic westside neighborhood staple owned by brothers Mike and Fred Assad. The menu here is incredibly varied and offers as much vegan food as it does other traditional middle eastern fare. There's a great and affordable grocery selection with import products that are hard to find elsewhere—from tahini and za'atar to lemons and (vegan!) baklava.
Assad's has a dedicated staff of chefs and bakers who keep amazing food coming every day. Chef Pierre makes the shawarmas from scratch and is a no doubt a master of his craft. The hummus, falafel, and grape leaves aren't just the best in the area, they're the best I've ever had. This also applies to their bakery products: the spinach pies are unbelievable. Fresh from the bag or at home in the air fryer - we have a bag on hand at all times. There's a wide array of traditional breads, including at least three different types of pitas, manakeesh, and more. Everything here is made in-house pretty much daily which is incredibly rare these days. And with that being said, the prices are incredibly fair for the quality of food and service you receive.
After many visits, Assad's was hired to cater the wedding for my wife and I. We ordered a large amount of food for 150 people and they had everything ready to go before the quoted time. On top of that, one of our drivers forgot a pan of food and Mike drove the pan to the wedding himself! You can't find or beat that kind of service anywhere. Our wedding was on the day of a once-in-400-years eclipse and yet the memory of the wedding from most of the guests is the food!
Assad's is a must visit if you're in the Cleveland area. This place is an absolute gem. Stop in and say hello to the friendly staff and support local, family owned small business!
Very respectful, food was great

Great food & mini-market!
Love this place! Food is fantastic!!
I love this place so much. The food is always on point and everyone is so nice. Just tried the falafel for the first time today and I’m wondering why I didn’t try it sooner
The food here is fantastic, the prices are reasonable, and the owner is incredibly friendly. However, the man who prepares the food—I believe he’s Egyptian—can be very frustrating. He gives off the impression that he just wants you out of the way, and he pushes you to take items you didn’t ask for. For instance, I requested a small bowl of Mujaddara, but without asking, he grabbed a large one and insisted the small bowl was too small, as if I didn’t know what I wanted! Seriously frustrating, this is so rude, i don’t know what to say tbh! and this is not the first time! I really wanted to put one star if it wasn’t for the owner, he’s a nice guy.
Great halal food
