So I saw the one stars saying this place was never open. I went anyway and it was closed. Not to be deterred, I wandered around the, frankly gorgeous and deserted, arcade and found 2 people working the desk at the Hyatt hotel. I questioned them about Cathy's noting that there were leaves inside and scant equipment present leading me to believe that the place had been closed for some time. My suspicions were confirmed by the employees that the spot was and had been closed for months. They did offer that the Colossal Cupcake was just down the street and should provide all the sugar I required. I'd say go there.

Not open during posted hours. Never open! We really wanted to try this place, but it was always closed though listed as open from 2pm. Not good.

We've tried to come here 3 separate times. Two times they were closed even though the hours on their website said they were open, same with yelp and Google. Finally got to try it the third time and the ice cream tasted frost bitten and old. This place is a real let down.

Difficult to find. Someone they eere closed permanently. It was Wednesday and their hours said close at 9pm

At $10, this is rather pricey as far as ice cream sandwiches go. In far more expensive California for example, there are two stores, CREAM in the Bay Area and Diddy Riese in Los Angeles, that also offer gourmet ice cream paired with freshly baked cookies, but charge one-half or one-third the price, respectively. Still, the cookies were large and so was the serving of ice cream inside them. You can mix and match cookies, with the net result being something soooo big in your hands that you have to rush to eat it all before it melts. Get yours with a cup so as to minimize the mess.

Good evening, I patronized your location in downtown Cleveland today around 6pm. The only flavor available that wasn’t frozen solid was strawberry so I was told to come back in 1 hour. That was an option for me as I had already made the trip to come there. So I opted for strawberry for 2 ice cream sandwiches. There were 2 young ladies working the counter (one had brown hair with a facial mole and one had black hair: both were young so I should have known not to expect 5-star service). The employee with the brown hair made my order. She gives me 1 sandwich and I ask for a cup or container as I’m traveling plus I have to pay. She says they don’t have one big enough. I said ok can I get one of those plastic food containers that assuming the cookies go in. She said no. So she gives me a tiny spoon in which I ask for a larger standard size spoon. My total was $20 I give a $20 bill and i had to ask for a receipt as my boss was going to reimburse me. The employee with the black hair states due to covid, I can’t get a receipt. I laugh because that is bogus. Covid has nothing to do with getting proof of purchase. I then ask her for a larger container. They gave me such a hard time about this. They tried to give me every cup they could find in which I stated and they even stated that the sandwiches were too large to fit. So I was finally given a container and something was mentioned like we have to tell the manager. I was blown away. In conclusion, can you explain why you all operate in this way? They were having a side conversation about some guy and I’m sitting there waiting like my ice cream will begin to melt soon, hello! For this to be a black-owned ice creamery biz, thing must improve! People already expect subpar service from us. #DoBetter

Just flew in from Philadelphia and wanted an ice cream sandwich for a Sunday night treat. Arrived at 9:30 pm, 30 minutes before closing time. Attendant was closing up and said she only had candy ice cream. Security guard chimed in and said she closed so come in Tuesday since its closed on Monday. Guard also stated that the next delivery is Wednesday. ??? What's up with downtown Cleveland food scene? Everyone closes up 30 minutes early with no product? Bad hospitality.

Cathy's is so tasty! The flavors vary everytime I visit and there are staples. When I happen to be in the area, I always visit. The cookies are always fresh and the ice cream is always delicious. The workers are so friendly and they give me great recommendations when i ask. The arcade is breathtaking and such an amazing backdrop to this establishment. I can wait to go back.

The staff are young, but very sweet and helpful. The space is small and there is no dine-in option. The ice cream and cookies were enjoyable, but does not beat Jeni's Ice Cream brand, my favorite! Overall, it is worth a try for a date-night, but will not crave to return.

Service was excellent. Ice cream was divine. Cookie tasted a little burnt. Would recommend without cookie.

Really good customer service, they had ran out of Snickerdoodle cookies when we arrived but they were baking another batch and let us come by later to pick up our cookie. The ice cream itself was nice and the cookie was very nice, fresh out of the oven. It was slightly eggy though but otherwise, it is a good stop for a sweet tooth.

Everything is so good I tried ice cream sandwiches and milkshakes. We went at night and the arcade was too good to sit and enjoy the ice cream.

We loved the icecream! My son did not like the cookies at all though. The prices were average for the size and amount given. The staff was super friendly! I really enjoyed the keylime flavored icecream! This was the first place that my son spotted at The Arcade and we had to go in and sample the sweets!

If you're looking for ice cream in downtown Cleveland, don't look anywhere is and just come to Cathy's. Even if you're not looking to have their cookies to make a sandwich, their unique ice cream flavours alone are enough to satisfy your ice cream cravings. We tried the Coffee & Cream and Butter Pecan ice cream. The flavours were strong and the scoops were HUGE. For the sandwich, you can choose two cookie flavours if you want to, or just get two of the same cookies. The cookies had a soft centre and a slightly crunchy outside--great cookies. The service was great at Cathy's and we were served with a smile, and she explained how their ice cream sandwiches work with patience. Whether you're craving just ice cream, just cookies, or both together, CATHY'S IS WHERE YOU SHOULD COME!
