Simple Mexican food. Super fresh ingredients. Absolutely delicious meats. It's a little hard to hear the staff and if you want to eat in, the benches are weirdly high, but the food more than makes up for it.

$12 for a barbacoa bowl with avocado. Good size bowl, Good food tasted hot and fresh, no customers at 1:30pm, no decor in the first room but the second room with the bar was cool (possibly under construction?) friendly staff. Vegetarian options

On Friday October 17th I went into the restaurant for a soft taco. It was in the evening. There was a young man there. I asked him for guacamole on my tacos. The young man proceeded to pretend as if he didn’t know what I was talking about. He asked the young lady next to him. Then I asked for Mexican rice he steady tried to give me regular rice. I was given a teaspoon of everything. And to top it off when he put my qaucomole on my taco he took his hands and smeared the quaucomole on my taco. I’ve been trying to reach management but the phone number isn’t working.I just tried to call the restaurant it is 9:27 pm Rey wasn’t in . The rice I was trying to order was the Mexican rice. Today’s date is 10/18/2025 . I went back to the restaurant do to the owner offering me a free taco. This time there was a different sever at the taco stand. He told me not to call the owner anymore more . Because the owner plate is full . The the server proceeded to take his hand and wipe my quaucomole on my taco.The owner told me to call him about the complaint I had made. And I will never visit this restaurant again. The workers are nasty and disrespectful.

I would give no stars if possible. This was by far the worst attempt at Mexican food I have ever had. We ordered on line and order was supposed to be ready at 7:43 when we went in nothing was ready and no one seemed to understand the order we placed. 20 minutes later food was served. It was flavorless. The birria Consome was greasy. My birria quesadilla had a whole bay leaf in it. The tortillas were raw, the esquites had some kind of white glop. If any one ate anything they used half a bottle of cholula from the fridge to give it any flavor! Most of the food went straight in the garbage! What a waste of money. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Luchitas is back baby.. the best Mexican food in the city.. not a full menu, yet.. loved their MOLE , salsa too... don't miss it... fun attentive staff.. ty

Overall this place is basically outstanding. The only issue I’ve seen so far is that they seem to think it’s ok for employees to come to work sick. I walked in today and every employee I saw was either sneezing or cough which seems inappropriate when you’re dealing with other people’s food. But apparently not for this place.

I went to the restaurant to order food when I walked in the staff just looked at us. Then the owner sitting at a table stuffing his mouth says we are closed barely can understand him for the mouth full of food. I then look on the menu it says it closes at 11pm and it 9p. The owner then says again we are closed I responded how when the menu clearly says 11p. He says well I’m sorry we closed I responded I wasted my time and gas.I don’t appreciate the fact that the menu says one thing but in person they say another

Loved everything about this place! Went with my wife and 5 year old daughter, and we all enjoyed it. It's casual, and family-friendly; a perfect fit in the new and improved Shaker Square. The food was delicious, fresh, authentic, and a good value (portion sizes were large). The colorful decor transports you to Mexico City. The only thing that was a little strange was that the bench seat was way too high for the tables. Definitely will be back!

Great food option for Shaker Square! Love that it is here. I got the barbacoa bowl and it didn’t disappoint. Lots of flavor, generous proportions and fresh. I could have definitely shared it. Will be back.
