Empress Taytu Ethiopian Restaurant

Among the best Ethiopian restaurants I’ve been to. The sega wat and injera are amazing. The traditional artwork on the wall sets a good atmosphere even if you eat at a normal “diner” table rather than on a mesob.

The staff is helpful and friendly.

The kitchen is one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a restaurant.

They compare very favorably to Fasika’s in Adam’s-Morgan, or Ras Kassas in Boulder.

Go, be adventurous. You won’t be sorry.

Certainly a hidden gem of Cleveland. Both the interior and the food is an absolute delight. The scents coming from the kitchen were very welcoming and made the whole experience even better.

I absolutely love the Ethiopian culture this place has always brought to our community! I traveled a whole hour there- a few months back , so ready for the nourishing food authentic experience, just to find that they had "temporarily" closed! When I saw they had decided to hang in there with us, I have( ever since) then been calling over and over to try and make reservations, but to no avail! I truly hope and pray they haven't closed for good and will try to make the journey again...read full review
