I have been here multiple times in the past and the food and experience were great. It has been a while since I'd last gone, so I thought I'd try it again. The first time I called around 7 on a Friday night. It took a couple calls to get through. They were friendly when talking, but said it would take an hour for the pizza, so 8. I said that was fine and placed an order for two pies. Within 5 minutes of ordering, I got a text saying it would now be 8:45 and asking if I was ok with that. I texted back and called multiple times, without any response. Finally after the 3rd or 4th call, they answered. They said they were super busy and would do their best to talk to the kitchen. We ended up going around 845 to pick them up and they were just coming out of the oven, so at least they were fresh, but still wild for almost 2 hours for a pizza. At this point, I was still banking on the fact that the pizzas would be worth the wait. We had an 8 minute drive, so I know they weren't fresh out of the oven when eating, but overall they did not seem to live up to my prior experiences with il rione. I have had the speck pizza before, and this time it was very lacking in toppings with some pieces not even having any meat, and maybe 2 - 3 crumbs of pistachio per piece. Last time I had it they were loaded with speck and plenty of toppings. I'm wondering if they were in a rush because of how busy they were or just stingy on the toppings? Especially with a $23 pizza. Anyway, considering the wait, service, and food quality, I can't recommend at this time. Maybe go when they're less busy?

The pizza was amazing. I didn’t expect it to be so damn BIG. The 1st bite is full of flavor. The crisp is just right, with each bite. It gets better and better. Definitely for big backs classic.

We had wanted to go and try Il Rione for a good while now and finally did last week! I was so excited because we had heard that their pizzas were great and let me tell you, THEY WERE!! We got there at around 6:30pm or so and the wait for a table was already over an hour!!!!!!! We decided to stay regardless because we really wanted to try it and lucky for us the bar had a couple spots available that we took. It was great that the bar offers food too because thanks to that we didn’t have to do all that crazy wait! The bartender was great, he recommended us some drinks and also answered some questions about the pizzas. We ended up ordering a large pizza that was half of their “green pie” and half of their “diavolo pie” , I love when you can do half and half so that you can try different pizzas in one! They both were delicious!!! Extremely tasty, you could feel the freshness of the ingredients, super thing dough and just amazing at each bite!
Definitely one of the top pizzas of the city and the atmosphere while dining in was really cool and great to hang out there. Whether you go with friends or for a date it is definitely a great place to enjoy!

First off, the pizza is a good NY style pizza, I would recommend. What I would not recommend, is the house salad which the wife and I felt was very expensive for what you got.

I liked the look of the business and the atmosphere here.

Juiciest pepperoni's,thin crust crunch every bite to die for...only problem now is this is what I'll be thinking about when I try a pie somewhere else it's going to be tough to beat

This place is really, really good. I moved here from New York and I would argue this is the best pie I've had north of 14th st...really not an embellishment. Purely on palate it's eerily similar to Johns of Bleecker with a slightly leaner crust, which is to say it's some of the best pizza you'll find anywhere.

Hands down the best neopolitan style pizza in Cleveland. Add in the atmosphere and delicious cocktails and this is a must visit spot for everything from a date night to spectacular take-out.

This pizza was incredible. The crust was thin and light and the ingredients were flavorful. We ordered a margarita pizza to go and waited inside the restaurant while they made it. Next time we will dine in - it was an intimate setting with an open kitchen, which I love! They don’t take reservations and their wait time can be longer on the weekend (which is a great sign), so I recommend planning ahead and putting your name in earlier or dining in on a week night if you are flexible. Either way, it’s absolutely worth it!
