I love La Playa! Not only are the food and atmosphere amazing, the staff is so welcoming and helpful. I planned my father's 70th birthday party to be hosted on the patio and Alex made the process so easy! On the day of the party, Kyomi and Fabian took care of everything, all while having a great attitude. They even took careful measure to provide non-alcoholic beverages for those who didn't drink which was great appreciated. Thank you, Alex and team!

The atmosphere and presentation of the food is great, however the taste of the food is not good. Very bland and tasteless. Mahi was overcooked and my veggies on fajita we’re basically raw with a soggy greasy tortilla with very little cheese. Very disappointing service too. Snot very attentive. Had to ask the host to pay because we had been done eating for well over ten minutes and she was nowhere to be found and after the disappointing food we just wanted to pay and leave.

My husband and I had an impromptu kid-free evening so we visited Edgewater and stopped at La Playa for dinner - definitely not disappointed this was our choice. Food was amazing, our server Kiyomi was fantastic (hopefully spelling that correctly) and atmosphere was fun and friendly. As someone who doesn’t live conveniently local to the restaurant, I would go out of my way to visit again!

The margaritas are as advertised. (The additional star for 'food') But it is overpriced for Mexican food. The seafood sampler was the best menu option for taste and value. Rest of the table had bland traditional food. Our server was not attentive. At one point, two other employees refilled our non-alc drinks, brought us extra napkins, retrieved our bar drinks reorder that we had placed prior to the food arriving, and even brought us to-go boxes.
Our waiter was named Fabian and he was very attentive to our needs. I totally recommend this place to anyone who can't afford a trip to Mexico or the islands to try this place, and it really makes you feel that you are on the islands or in mexico. I recommend the steak and shrimp it was fantastic. I will be going back again with more friends. Please be considerate of your waiter or waitress and tip them well.

Decided to try this restaurant today for date night. We sat on the patio. The music and atmosphere made us feel like we were in Mexico. It was absolutely amazing . We started out with the queso with corn, the hot Cheeto street corn and passionfruit margaritas. The food was delicious. The drinks were very tasty. We also tried the fajita nachos in the Ohio steak. Large portions we took so much food home . The service was excellent. We will definitely go again.
