The Coffee House at University Circle

Good coffee. The breakfast sandwich is a premade scrambled egg patty. Bacon nearly raw. So Im out on that. Free wifi and good outdoor seating. Would not go out of my way to eat here. Mostly students studying and drinking coffee.

It says it’s wheelchair and handicap accessible on their website, but that is absolutely not the case!! I guess my first clue was there’s no handicap space in the parking lot. They apparently have no interest in working with or serving disabled people. What a shame.

Not wheelchair accessible. There may or may not be some hidden door in the back for disabled folks, but we weren't even sure because there's absolutely no signage, nothing to even indicate where disabled folks should go.

Do not get baked goods from this place. I got a cupcake. The icing was hard as rock and the cake was absolutely dehydrated. When I went back to talk to the young lady behind the counter she said that if I let it warm up, it would be fine. Well it didn’t. It had been in a refrigerated case and it sucked all the moisture out of it. It was old. She explained that they get their big goods from a second party that delivers it.
I asked her if I could exchange it she said no. I asked her if I could return it and she said no. I gave the cupcake back, saved the calories and will not return.

This is a great spot for quality coffee and a bite. The service was fantastic, and if I was a student, I would have happily sat down to study.

coffee house is very dear to me. I've had many cram writing sessions, meetings with mentors, and casual chats there over the years. there are ample options for us vegans. milk options include almond and oat, and they feature daily specials (like a free shot to drinks or homemade syrup!). there's usually vegan chili and house-made muffins, but not always; if available, they are worth a try. there's also a dr. praeger sandwich available to-go with a salad at the counter. the drinks themselves may not be the best in all of cleveland, but the coffee is solid and the chai has a good kick. fair prices, fresh coffee, friendly faces, it's a fixture in university circle for a reason :) Updated from previous review on 2026-02-21

They upcharge for non-dairy milk and don’t have any plant-based bakery. If you are plant-based, don’t waste time or parking meter money to come here. We left. :(

From the wonderful coffee aroma to the warm greetings and smiling faces from the employees the minute you walk through the door--- this coffee shop really shines! It's a great spot for a quick lunch, coffee to go, or a meet with friends. Plenty of seating, great atmosphere, and exceptionally clean. Their turkey sandwich was thick cut on a soft fluffy bun. Tried the broccoli cheddar soup, also excellent. They even made us a tasty breakfast sandwich close to closing time. With so many treat options in the pastry case you'll want to try them all. I can recommend the tart (shown cut in half to display the crisp buttery crust and rich and creamy filling) and the chocolate chip cookie to start. This should be everyone's go to when in the area!

Still going here. Still love the drinks, food, and the staff. Their new patio is gorgeous and spacious. Make this your choice while also boycotting Starbucks and Dunkin! ☕

Cute, quick, high quality. Was able to enjoy a very nice little meal during my short lunch break due to their quick service and seating availability. The fruit tart was lovely, tea strong, and salad with plenty of veggies. Spent $9 and more than satisfied. Thank you!
