Although I've only been to Toast three times, it's sad to see them close. The service has always been great and the bartenders not only make great drinks but they educate as well! Let's toast to amazing experiences at Toast!

Awesome wine and incredible service. Staff make you feel welcome the second you walk in the door. The Brussels spouts are unreal. Would love to come back!

Very pleased with the food and service. Went for happy hour and did a mix of happy hour and regular priced food and drink. All were great. The prices weren't bad for either. Good, strong cocktails, decent beer menu, and a mix of food offerings. The frites are enough to feed a family of four and SO GOOD! The burger was also a big hit with my party. The staff was all very friendly and attentive in a perfect amount - no hovering but they were there when we needed them. The space itself is very inviting, bright and open, and the patio looked like a great place to relax. This is a hidden gem in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood. We'll definitely be back!

My friends and I had the most bizarre experience here last night. We decided to check out some of the local bars in the area for drinks directly after dinner and decided to head to Toast. We walk in and the bar was almost empty so we walked up and started to ask if we could sit there when the bartender condescendingly tells us there will be a wait. We tried to clarify that we weren't eating, just wanted to sit at the bar for a glass of wine and he once again rudely cuts us off and tells us there will be a wait.We sit down, wait about ~ 5 minutes before going back up and asking the hostess (who wasn't there when we first walked in) what was the wait time was. He comes over, cuts us off from speaking again and tells us that it's a short wait but they're basically the only two there. We were 100% fine to wait but he never gave us a time estimate, was so incredibly rude from the moment we walked in and acted like our presence was an inconvenience. We obviously ended up leaving right after this final interaction.

Had a fantastic brunch. Food was perfect, especially with the recommended additions from Wilbur our host. Wilbur was attentive and spot on with the homemade Bloody Mary mix and specialty coffee blend. We will be back.

Overall very good but I would've preferred a more expansive menu. Two diners in our party of 5 had the quiche which they said was great. Another had spiced apple French toast and enjoyed it. I had the turkey sandwich. It was good. The 5th person had a breakfast sandwich and reported it was good. We were served by the bar manager Wilbur who made our dining experience so fun and enjoyable. He's a gem for sure! The atmosphere was good but the seating could be nicer. We sat in bench seats near the window which let in more of the winter chill than was truly comfortable. I'd be willing to try Toast again but only when it's a bit warmer weather.

I ordered the large pasta. It was approximately a cup and half of food. It was good. The turkey on the turkey sandwich was very dry.Vegetarian options: Great vegan options.

A good, but not great, brunch spot. The staff was very attentive, however my meal was disappointing. I ordered the Vegan Caesar Salad ($14), and was shocked at the portion size for the price. The size seemed more like a side-salad option than a main course, and I wished the spring mix had been more dressed. For $14, you would expect a salad of larger size, or with more add-ins. This salad consisted of only spring mix, and a few croutons and picked red onions. The Breakfast Frites ($8) were delicious. I was a fan of the aioli, but not the tomato jam that was paired with it. Mostly street parking available, but there are a few smaller lots nearby.

It’s Friday night. Happy hour, aka “Toasty Hour” is 4-7. I walk in with my Fiancée at approximately 6:39. I know this for a fact because we really wanted to catch their happy hour before getting a bite to eat. We are offered a seat at a table. I let the pleasant waitress know we are there for happy hour. Bar tender tells us, “Happy hour ends at 7.” And I’m feeling good. Bar tender then follows up with a very unwelcoming, “Last call for happy hour was at 6:30.” It’s like he was over it for no reason. We look at each other with a look of disbelief because… huh…? Who on earth has a happy hour last call and is so cold to people when they first walk in the door ? Not sure how the food or drink is, and probably won’t after that warm interaction.

We came for just a few glasses of wine and some appetizers before doing dinner elsewhere and were immediately greeted warmly. We got fried brussel sprouts and fries for apps and they were so good and the vibe was so cozy we switched to getting dinner at the place! It was super tasty, well made food, and the wine was excellent and very reasonably priced. We are huge fans and will be back!!!

I saw a mouse in the kitchen while sitting at our table. No one apologized and no one compensated our meal. I'm not returning.

The best in neighborhood dining! The patio is a fave but it's cozy inside too. I prefer sharing a lot of their smaller tastings to their actual dinner dishes but that's just a personal preference.
