Having a true love for Italian, we found this place while visiting Cleveland. The calamari was excellent. We had cheese raviolis for the main meal, very flavorful. We ended with the tiramisu, definitely recommend. I had a Limoncello Martini, OMG it had me tipsy after one and was fantastic, full of flavor!

DOG FOOD GARBAGE MUSH!! Egg plant parmagian HORRIBLE! I think all the chef did was slice the egg plant, bake it pour marinara on it and served. When I make it at home I first salt both sides, put each slice on paper towel, put paper towel on top and put cast iron skillet on top and let it sit an hour. Gets ALL the water out. Then flour, my own recipe of Italian spices, whipped egg and Italian bread crumbs. Then fridge again. Then brown each slice in olive oil and butter. Bake. NICE AND CRISPY! This chef needs to attend cooking school. Atmosphere nice, server was excellent, wifes chicken Piccata good. NEVER GET THE EGG PLANT!

One of the best, reasonably priced Italian restaurants we’ve had. We went around 6 on a weekend night, so the wait was pretty long. We waited for around an hour to get a table for four, so would definitely recommend a reservation. Once we were seated though, the service was quite fast.
We ordered mozzarella sticks and eggplant crostini for appetizers, which were both delicious and hot, coming out pretty quickly. For entrees, we ordered spaghetti and meatballs, chicken piccata with spaghetti, eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti, and spaghetti with clams. Again, they came out fast and we were pleasantly surprised by the large portions, especially for the good prices. All of them were delicious, but the eggplant parmigiana and chicken piccata were especially exceptional with great, complex flavors. They came with decent protein portions, as well.
The inside was nice with a good ambience. Overall, a must try spot for tasty, well priced pasta and Italian food in Cleveland.

Absolutely my favorite restauran t in Little Italy. Never had a bad meal. You can tell the food is fresh. The Arribiatta and Bolognese

Food is amazing! Service was very poor, waiter barely spoke to us, it took 20 minutes to get one bottle of wine and we had to ask for bread. Then 2 entrees came out at least 10 min ahead of the other 5 meals! The service was on par with a fast food restaurant. And it’s extremely noisy. The food is so good, I would order to go and leave the restaurant experience out.

How does a chef silently tell you, “Please never come back”?

Easy. He serves you a piece of salmon so dry it could be used as a building material — centered on a plate so empty it echoes. No garnish, no olive oil, no veggies, not even a lonely sprig of parsley trying to make eye contact. Just salmon. Dry. Alone. Like it’s being punished.

I have Celiac disease AND a soy allergy (the soy part is new — surprise!). I always let the staff know, and usually the chef sends out a few safe options. This time? Just salmon. Fine, I asked for it medium.

My husband ordered pasta with extra sauce on the side. What he got was pasta in sauce. Like, in it. Like, “Did we order soup?” levels of sauce.

Meanwhile, I’m chewing through drywall disguised as fish, trying not to cry. I asked for olive oil to help it slide down — the server brought it, probably out of pity. I drizzled it like I was trying to revive a mummy.

We clearly asked for too much. I wanted safe food. My husband wanted sauce control. The chef wanted us gone.

We won’t be going back to Trattoria. I think the salmon was his way of saying goodbye.

Mediocre food and an unimpressive menu. $10 for a slice of tiramisu and $4 for an espresso is also ridiculous. The weight of Little Italy’s name alone carries places like this.

What a unique joint. The food was so fresh and really tasty. The service was fast and flawless. I had mushroom ravioli and my wife had lasagna. She ate half and was full. The portions are plenty for sure. You’ll love this gem in Cleveland’s little Italy.
