About Blue Santa Mexican Grill

Blue Santa Mexican Grill is a restaurant that offers a unique dining experience in a setting reminiscent of an old-fashioned theater, complete with day of the dead-inspired black light artwork. The service is generally good, with servers like Diego who are attentive and friendly. The restaurant has recently moved to a former theater in Westerville, and the new facility is beautiful with fabulous food and drinks. The decor is beautiful, and the atmosphere is super cool, making it a popular spot for those who love Mexican cuisine.

The food at Blue Santa Mexican Grill is hit or miss. Some dishes, like the chicken Vallarta and tamales, are tasty and satisfying, while others, such as the salad and dry chicken, could use improvement. The rice, however, is a standout and highly praised. During visits, dishes like taco salad, carnitas tacos, and tamales have received positive reviews, with food arriving quickly and tasting excellent. Customers also enjoy the drinks and the artwork inside the restaurant. However, service can sometimes be slow, especially when ordering desserts like cheesecake, which may take longer to arrive.

The restaurant's seating arrangement has been criticized for being cramped and uncomfortable, and the floor plan could benefit from reevaluation. Despite this, the inside atmosphere is generally appreciated. It is worth noting that lunch prices are more reasonable than dinner prices, and there is a 3% surcharge for credit card payments.

In summary, Blue Santa Mexican Grill offers a unique dining experience with attentive service, tasty dishes, and a super cool atmosphere, but the seating and pricing could use some improvement.

Food was excellent. Got our food fast. My mom decided to get a piece of cheesecake to go and it took the waitress forever to get it. When we got home and opened the box we couldn't believe how small it was. The waitress was not very friendly.

My burrito was dry and it was if they were forcing you to drink specific beers. Every beer I asked for they didn’t have, from the menu. It was very loud and service was marginal, oh and don’t forget the 3.5% up charge for a credit card

Walked in- the place was totally empty and yes it was during business hours. Staff were all clustered together, chatting and on their cell phones. They seated us, gave us water and salsa...and just never came back. We walked out- they made eye contact with us as we left- and simply went back to scrolling on their phones. We went to another place instead- that had a full house and was excellent. We will never be back.
