COLO Market & Oyster Bar Downtown

My husband and I were in town for a concert and we stopped by the North market to grab a bite to eat. I'm so glad we stopped here. The food was amazing and Dillon who actually owns the place is fantastic! There was another guy that worked There he has shorter dark hair. He was amazing as well I can't believe I forgot his name. But we sat at the bar and enjoyed the company the atmosphere and of course the delicious food. I would Definitely recommend!

I got one of each of the lobster roll sliders. The Maine style lobster was amazing, but the Connecticut style was overcooked, dry, tough, and flavorless and I couldn't eat more than a bite of it. The fries were very good and flavorful. Im disappointed that I had to throw out so much lobster at the end of my meal because it was pricey, but at least I know for next time to just order the full size Maine roll. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

COLO is nothing short of spectacular. I have had the Lobster Roll, Shrimp Po Boy and a Burger in the last week. The quality of the food, prep and attention to detail is boast worthy! The portions are great and those fries to top it all off!!!
If you don't know...., you need to!

I rated 2 stars because sadly, we didn't get to try any of the food. We were really excited because the descriptions on the menu sounded scrumptious, the items on display looked appealing and with happy hour pricing it seemed a win! In addition, when searching for food, the location was not exceptionally far from our previous stop. Most importantly, the downtown location was to have offered the best of both worlds, land and sea! I prefer seafood, especially lobster and oysters, the wife abhors seafood but will indulge in a good burger and fries. So problem solved, only, it wasn't! We approached the "Butcher" stall shortly before 4pm, to be informed that they closed at 3pm today. We retreated to the car and I scoured pages and sites, but nothing mentioned the "Butcher" stall closing at 3pm. Moreover, I was continually given an option to place an order for pickup/delivery (via Doordash) which was ONLY for those Land items. Ultimately, since my wife did not see anything else that appealed to her, we decided to leave. Hopefully, the next time we are in the area we can give it a try and I'll update my review accordingly.

Best mushroom Swiss burger I've ever had!! Fries were cut this morning. Fast and friendly service. Highly recommend!

This was sooo amazing. This was our first time having raw oysters and it was an amazing experience! It's definitely a must try! Food was delicious

My daughter and I stopped in the North Market and were so happy with the service and knowledge of the manager (James). He turned us on to literally the BEST oysters we’ve ever eaten. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Great counter dining experience, excellent prices and pleasant encounter at COLO. 🦪🦪

Had a lovely time with the folks at COLO at the North Market. Great quality seafood! They have several lobster rolls and po’ boys as well as the usual fresh (or grilled) oysters and cocktail shrimps. Ordered the fish ‘n chips which was really good with the cornmeal seasoning. And of course, we had to try the oysters variety (high quality that you can taste differences). Limited seating if you want to eat right there but you get to chat with amazing guys as well as see them shuck the oysters. Come during happy hours 3-5pm weekdays for best oyster pricing. Highly recommended!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! Why are there only 4.5 stars!? No way, this is a 5 star establishment!! They have played a pivotal role in me revolutionizing my cooking, diet, and health and their food helps me support my family's dietary needs. I found this place several years ago when I was visiting the North Market and I remembered it looking amazing as I passed by. Let me tell you why IT IS.

I started cooking a lot more over the last few years to have more control over my diet and to help my diabetic father eat better. I needed a great butcher to get premium, fresh, sustainable products that you cannot find at the grocery store.

Is it a little pricey? Yes. Is it worth every dollar? YES!!

This is where I bought fresh salmon for the first time in my life, along with many more types of fish like swordfish, hallibut, icelandic cod, and arctic char. It has made me a better and healthier cook. I love making my own recipes with their wide selection and it is all so delicious. It's really the best fish I've ever had in my life and it's right here in central Ohio.

This doesn't even cover their other butcher for all your red meat needs, or their restaurants serving mouthwatering food from both. I haven't ordered from their restaurant yet due to the cost of it but it does look/smell incredible. For the cost of one meal, you can order a pound of fish and have 3 meals, or serve 3 people. But I do understand why in this case, it's not so simple.

I love the crew that works here, particularly on the fish side, the butchers and such. The last time I called for pricing and selection info, they told me everything quickly and answered all my questions, and I could hear the crew in the background cheering and raving about the food they were preparing. They're so helpful and welcoming to all people and they're chill as hell.

The Dublin location is also great! Especially when you want to avoid downtown traffic and parking!

Please post your butcher menu on your website and update it weekly if you can, it would make shopping here even easier and I won't have to call you every time. I would like to see the expected delivery times, pricing, selection etc.

We've been going to COLO for oysters for several years and we think they have the best, most consistent oysters in Columbus. They have a wide variety, they shuck them right in front of you, and in my opinion, you can't beat the busy atmosphere of North Market. I've gotten to know several of the guys there, it's a tight knit family run business and I always get great service! 10/10

Friendly staff, however seating is limited. It's only affordable if you go during happy hour, as the oysters are half-price. The lobster roll is very good and comes with garlic fries, however the prices are pretty steep.
