People lose their minds about Comune, and I'm happy for them. However, this was my first time going, and probably my last. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but for the price and reputation I was expecting a lot more. It's good, but not great. Honestly, my wife and I agreed that her appetizer was easily the best part of our meal. That's not ideal.
What a delightful surprise to find this place on a trip to Columbus. As a southern Californian, we are spoiled for options at home. Comune was outstanding! Better than Crossroads in LA. We had a peach and cucumber salad, crispy rice and eggplant schnitzel, chocolate tart and semi fredo for dessert. Each dish was amazing! The vibe and service we also on point!
This restaurant is exceptional; my local friend has been hyping it up for years, but they’ve always been closed when I’m visiting Columbus.
The staff were so kind, everything was easily made vegan, and the dishes were incredibly delicious. One of my omnivorous pals said the lasagna was how he always dreamed that dish should taste, but never does. I was relieved to hear this, since they switched the dairy cheese with cashew cheese.
