I’ve been to Del Mar many times over the years, and it has consistently been one of my favorite places to dine. My go-to dishes are the tomato salad, the open-fire roasted shellfish platter, and the lobster spaghetti — and they are excellent every single time. During my visit tonight, I ordered the lobster bisque, the tomato salad, and the lobster spaghetti, and the food was just as wonderful as always. The quality of the cuisine is one of the reasons I continue to come back.

Del Mar offers beautiful outdoor views from upstairs seating, with large portions and delicious swordfish. The food is exceptional, though not inexpensive, worth every penny. The restaurant is undeniably beautiful, and the ambiance is fantastic. The veranda seating provides a great view, comfortable seating, and attentive service from the servers, who offer good suggestions for food and drink choices. The hostesses are incredible, and the servers are well-trained and knowledgeable, but never pushy. The caramelized onion bread is one of the best starters, and the balance in their margarita will make you want to drink them by the pitcher. The lobster spaghetti is one of the best flavors, with the lobster perfectly cooked and the spaghetti in sauce as an excellent combination.
