I REALLY wanted this place to be good, because all of the other Gallo's restaurants in Columbus are fantastic. There are few upscale-but-comfy restaurants in this part of Clintonville, but Gallo's looks the part: the ambiance is good and it's clearly doing well in the neighborhood. But the food is truly unimpressive. My husband's burger was unforgivably overdone, bland, and rested on stale buns. My son's pasta was mushy. The hostess was quite nice and friendly, but our server was . . . grumpy. Sigh. Doubt we'll be back again.

The chicken piccata was very good. Service was sort of slow but not terrible. It was sort of strange that we had a 4 o’clock reservation for 10 and immediately upon seating, the waitress said we had a two hour time limit as they had a lot of reservations for 6 o’clock. When we left at five till six, there were two tables with people. Not sure what was going on there.

Although the restaurant got more full with people the longer we sat there, the noise level was pretty good... Not too loud. Brian was great, and the food was excellent as well!

Great food, service, and atmosphere. We loved the burrata appetizer, salmon entree, and mahi mahi. We enjoyed a tasty chocolate pudding dessert too. We will be back :)

Our first time there, the pasta bolognese was probably the best pasta I've had in my entire life and I am a pasta lover. Just incredible. Service was great, and personal without being overbearing. Had a fabulous chocolate martini also, possibly the smoothest one I've ever had and it's what I always order when we go out. We've been to the Gallos by MicroCenter on Bethel and like it, wanted to try another Gallos. Compare the menus for the Nottingham to this site and thought Gallos on High suited us better for this occasion and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to the new Gallos in Dublin, very close to my house! Highly recommend it, the noise level was just right so we could have a conversation, and not hear those at tables near us. It was the evening we really needed.

Food and service was basic. Scallops were slightly undercooked and rubbery, risotto was undercooked. Crab cakes were the consistency of a creamy paste, no texture. First time here, last time also.

Our waiter was also the bartender. She did the best she could and the manager helped out with the three tables that were being shared with the bar. Service was pretty good considering it was Mardi Gras. The food was just okay. The corn chowder was very disappointing. It was watery and had no seasoning. The lace salad was tasty. The reason we came on Mardi Gras was the Crawfish Etouffee. It was very one dimensional. It tasted like the only spice was black pepper and there was plenty. They should have saved some of the black pepper for the chowder. We have eaten here other times and food was great. On this nite it was just OK.

I had the salmon. It was EXTREMELY oily. Too much... it also wasn't seared. The lace salad was good. One suggestion is when ordering French fries, there should be more. This was definitely not an ample amount. It was a bit skimpy.

Warning: This restaurant charges a credit card fee. We had a couple of drinks each, entrees, and dessert so the 2.75% credit card fee was around $5.00. Food was OK not anything special for me to pay the CC fee.

We went here as a last minute change to plans for my 40th birthday. So glad it worked out to our favor. Parking was a little hard on a Friday night. But we made it work. The place looks so cute inside. Our waiter Dylan was great. The drinks were delicious!!! I had the gallos old fashion. Yummmmm! The food was as fantastic as our waiter stated. I had the chicken piccata and 100% recommend. We also had the calamari as an appetizer, and that was also tasty. The only downside was how dry the Caesar salad was, so it was just OK.

My wife and I went to Gallo's for a birthday dinner. The atmosphere was great and slightly unexpected given that it's in an urban/suburban shopping center. Food was just a notch below high end, but still very good. We had a great time, our server was excellent, and Gallo's also seems like it would be a great place to grab a drink.

Best spot in Columbus, hands down. Everything is exceptional, been going since it opened in 2004. Never disappointed....the brined wings are worth it alone, not to mention the wide tap selection, pizza, and other curated menu choices. Outstanding, id give it 6 stars if I could!

Nicer sit down version of Gallos. It has Tvs with the game on over the bar but it is less sports bar, more place to meet for drinks and nice dinner. Thankfully this location still have a good pizza and wings. Our server was helpful attentive and friendly. We'll be back.
